The role of a Product Owner/Business Analyst is pivotal in bridging the gap between stakeholders, development teams, and end-users. This role encompasses a blend of business acumen, analytical skills, and a good understanding of agile methodologies. The Product Owner/Business Analyst serves as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that the product vision is translated into actionable requirements and delivered effectively.

What your day to day will look like:

Product Vision & Strategy:

  • Act as the main point of contact between stakeholders (business, customers, and development teams).
  • Gather input, feedback, and requirements from business owners, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure the product meets their needs.
  • Organize regular feedback sessions and reviews with stakeholders to ensure).
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap outlining product features, enhancements, and deliverables.

Documenting requirements and Backlog Management:

  • Create business and functional details requirements.
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it is clear and actionable for the development team.
  • Write detailed user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and ensuring clarity of requirements.
  • Continuously prioritize tasks based on business value, market demand, and technical feasibility.
  • Work closely with development teams, including software engineers, designers, and testers, to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and priorities.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria. Ensure that delivered features meet quality standards and user expectations.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that delivered solutions meet business requirements and address user needs.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the product team and the broader organization.



Requirements
  • University or college diploma (DEC/CEGEP) in business administration, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience working as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in agile software development environments.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with product management tools (e.g. ADO)
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design principles is a plus.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment.
  • Bilingual French/English
  • Experience with B2B applications (is an asset)
