Description

As a Product Marketing Manager, Defense & Security, you will play a strategic role in accelerating the growth of CAE's global Defense & Security business. You will develop market-leading positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for a portfolio of training, simulation, mission support, and digital solutions that enhance military readiness, operational effectiveness, and force modernization across air, land, maritime, cyber, space, and multi-domain operations.


Working closely with Product Management, Business Development, Capture, Engineering, and operational subject matter experts, you will translate complex technical capabilities into compelling mission-focused value propositions that resonate with military operators, defense ministries, acquisition organizations, government agencies, NATO and allied forces, and defense industry partners. You will help shape strategic pursuits, influence customer perceptions, and strengthen CAE's position as a trusted partner in defense readiness and training transformation.


Positioning

  • Acquire subject matter expertise on the global defense and security landscape, including military training modernization, force readiness requirements, operational concepts, defense acquisition processes, and emerging defense technologies.
  • Develop differentiated positioning, messaging, and thought leadership that resonate with military operators, training and education commands, procurement authorities, defense ministries, government agencies, and defense prime contractors.
  • Support Business Development and Capture teams with relevant product and capability information to support strategic campaigns, major competitive pursuits, and long-term growth initiatives across domestic and international defense markets.
  • Translate technical product capabilities into operational outcomes that demonstrate improved readiness, mission effectiveness, interoperability, survivability, training efficiency, and lifecycle value.
  • Develop and maintain buyer personas and stakeholder maps spanning military leadership, training organizations, acquisition authorities, program offices, operational users, and industry partners.
  • Identify, articulate, and communicate CAE's competitive differentiation within evolving defense and security markets.

Go-to-Market

  • Support business development and capture activities with relevant market intelligence, competitive analysis, win themes, customer insights, and mission-focused sales enablement content.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Business Development teams to launch and position new defense training, simulation, synthetic environment, mission support, and digital transformation capabilities.
  • Work with Marketing Strategists to develop go-to-market strategies aligned to long defense procurement cycles, government acquisition frameworks, funding priorities, and complex stakeholder ecosystems.
  • Contribute to strategic account initiatives and campaign planning that strengthen customer engagement throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Support participation in key defense and security events, military conferences, trade exhibitions, industry forums, and customer engagements to advance CAE's market presence and thought leadership.
  • Develop content and messaging that supports strategic growth priorities across domestic, allied, and international defense markets.

Market Insights

  • Work closely with Data Strategy and Market Insights to monitor global defense spending priorities, force modernization programs, military training requirements, acquisition trends, competitive developments, and emerging technologies across key defense markets.
  • Analyze geopolitical, operational, and technological trends that influence military preparedness, defense investment decisions, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of defense customer challenges, operational environments, training gaps, and evolving readiness needs through engagement with military stakeholders, industry partners, user groups, and defense forums.
  • Provide strategic market insights that inform product strategy, investment priorities, partnerships, and growth opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, strategic marketing, business development, capture management, government programs, or related roles within the defense, aerospace, security, government, or military training sectors.
  • Demonstrated understanding of defense acquisition processes, military procurement, government contracting environments, and complex public-sector stakeholder ecosystems.
  • Experience marketing defense technology, simulation, training systems, mission systems, operational technology, aerospace, or security-related solutions.
  • Previous experience interfacing with engineering and software systems and solution developers.
  • Strong expertise in market segmentation, customer insights, product positioning, strategic planning, competitive analysis, and value proposition development.
  • Proven ability to develop sales enablement assets, executive presentations, pursuit support material, and customer-facing collateral.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with military training environments, readiness requirements, concepts of operation (CONOPS), force development initiatives, or defense modernization programs.
  • Understanding of military operations across one or more domains, including air, land, maritime, cyber, space, or multi-domain operations.
  • Ability to translate complex technical and operational concepts into concise, compelling, and customer-relevant messaging.
  • Bilingual (French-English)
