Product Manager - Trading Competitions

The Role: 

We are looking for a Product Manager to own and scale the Trading Competitions offering of the Group's International Operations. This role sits at the intersection of trading, gamification, and behavioral design. You will be responsible for creating engaging, high-retention competition formats inspired by tournament-style and engagement-driven mechanics, while ensuring alignment with trading objectives and regulatory standards.

You’ll work closely with design, engineering, marketing, and data teams to build experiences that drive participation and engagement.

 

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Develop and execute the roadmap for trading competitions
  • Continuously iterate based on performance, user feedback, and data insights
  • Develop formats inspired by structured tournaments, leaderboards, staking models and loyalty tiers and benefits
  • Introduce features such as eliminations, entry requirements, tiered structures, and risk/reward balancing
  • Build engagement and retention focused UX systems (levels, badges, streaks, rewards)
  • Optimize onboarding, participation funnels, and repeat engagement
  • Monitor KPIs such as participation rate, retention and lifetime value
  • Run A/B tests on formats, rewards, and UX flows
  • Work with engineering to deliver scalable, real-time competition systems
  • Partner with marketing on campaigns, promotions, and user acquisition
  • Align with legal team for all competition structures
  • Analyze trends in trading, esports, and digital engagement products
  • Benchmark against competitors and identify innovation opportunities

Main requirements:

    • BSc/MSc in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Physics, Business Management, Computer Science, or a related field
    • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
    • Proven ability to design engagement mechanics and user interaction loops
    • Strong understanding of user behaviour, incentives, and risk/reward dynamics
    • Experience with real-time or event-based systems
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment
    • Previous experience with online trading or gaming platforms is a strong advantage
    • Results-driven with the ability to prioritize and act proactively in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to work autonomously, think strategically, and execute with initiative

The following will be considered an advantage:

    • Experience with leaderboard systems, tournaments, gaming or fantasy-style products
    • Knowledge of trading platforms (CFDs, forex, crypto, equities)
    • Background in behavioral economics or game theory
    • Familiarity with anti-fraud and fair play systems
    • Strong business acumen and understanding of the trade lifecycle
