The Role

The product organisation is at the core of Airwallex, bringing together commercial strategy, engineering, design, and financial compliance to deliver Airwallex’s product suite to a customer audience around the world. We care about perfection in the details and creating first-class products on a global scale. Our Product members are creative and dynamic problem solvers who dive into new challenges daily and can communicate across all levels of the organisation.

As a Product Manager, you will be defining Airwallex’s products, from strategy and solution design to roadmap and delivery plans. This role is part of the payments product team, building out our capabilities to offer local/ alternative payment methods to our customers. As the global payment landscape is evolving quickly, we see non-card payment methods becoming increasingly important for businesses that want to accelerate their growth and expand their global reach.

You will be responsible for leading local payment method related projects from ideation to launch, covering aspects such as:

  • Studying which alternative payment methods could help businesses to increase their conversion rate, decrease their cost or otherwise help them our customers

  • Leading provider selection, end-user experience design, integration and operationalization of new payment methods

  • Conducting first-hand user research and collaborating closely with commercial teams, financial partnership teams and solution engineers to identify pain points and new opportunities to improve Airwallex’s local payment method offering

For this, you will collaborate closely with other product managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders in the business.

Requirements 

  • 2+ years of professional experience in a high-growth environment

  • Bachelor's degree or above with a competitive GPA, preferably with engineering or computer science coursework

  • Solid technical understanding and ability to engage in architectural discussions with engineering teams

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey product strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Close attention to detail, ability to structure complex problems and inform decisions with data and first-principle insights

  • Drive, grit, and persistence are necessary to take ownership and move ideas to reality in short periods of time

  • Ability to thrive in cross-cultural and cross-functional teams

Preferred

  • Experience in payments processing or broader FinTech

  • Working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
