You Are:

You are a rising Product Design star interested in both researching and designing user experiences. You have incredible design thinking chops and can recognize good UX from bad. Your design execution and aesthetic choices elevate the product you are designing. You aspire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, moving frequently from project to project. You are inspired by mobile design and follow the latest design trends. You also love finding out why people use products the way they do and can uncover those reasons and deliver them in meaningful ways. Above all, you are a talented, fun, collaborative person.

The work:

  • Design beautiful user interfaces, with a focus on digital interfaces.
  • Promote best practices in UI, UX, and interaction design.
  • Able to hand off pixel-perfect design documentation (including annotations) to developers.
  • Participate in strategy and brainstorm sessions with clients to help articulate and define their goals.
  • Contribute wireframes, user flows, interaction prototypes, user personas, customer journeys, site maps, and other design specification materials.
  • Work directly with customers, peers, and creative leads to design end-to-end experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques (including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behavior, and verify design concepts).
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
  • Conduct heuristic and functional reviews of other digital experiences.
  • Apply design thinking to create world-class digital experiences across multiple platforms and channels by bringing together user needs, business goals, and technical realities.
  • Translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity despite system complexity.
  • Create instant tangibility for the team and the client through storytelling and rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototyping.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
  • Collaborate effectively with remote and onsite team members, including but not limited to designers, researchers, project/product managers, QA, developers, and technical architects.
  • Participate in and contribute to project debriefs, project templates, and design POVs.
  • Mentor other novice design practitioners.
  • Collaborate and consult with clients and stakeholders on design decisions.
  • Have a Human-Centered Design approach in solving user needs with deep customer empathy.

Here’s what you need:

  • You are bilingual in English and French and can communicate comfortably both verbally and in writing.
  • 3+ years’ experience in digital design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field in Information Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors, or equivalent (minimum 2 - 3 years) work experience.
  • You’re comfortable designing within iOS and Android native, Web Responsive, and additional platform guidelines using Figma (primary), Adobe XD, the Creative Suite, and other design tools.
  • English is required for this position, as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, the US, and other countries within our global footprint where English is the common language. Due to the significant volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.

Bonus points if:

  • Eligibility to obtain Security Reliability clearance.
  • You’re comfortable in collaboration tools such as Miro, Mural, FigJam, and the Adobe Creative Suite, and other relative tools to design for digital interfaces.
  • You have experience with client-facing projects, ideally in consulting, agency, or other business-related services.
  • You have a willingness for reasonable business travel to work with onsite teams and clients.
  • You have Accessibility knowledge and know how to apply it to product design (WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 AA).
  • Graphic and Visual Design skills.
  • You’re experienced with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with external clients and their customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research.
  • Consulting experience delivering and supporting business development.
