Job Summary

The process engineer will initially support the project manager to introduce full manufacturing capability. Once the project is completed, it is anticipated that the right candidate will become a Senior Process Engineer or Engineering Manager.
The Process Engineer will determine and develop the most efficient manufacturing processes, including SMT, manual insertion, wave soldering, conformal coating, and case construction.
Understand all equipment installation requirements, working closely with site services teams and equipment suppliers to ensure a quick installation schedule to support the project schedule.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

· Machinist & Equipment: Support the project manager with the procurement of manufacturing equipment and create an equipment installation schedule

· Teamwork: Work with the procurement team to identify suitable (local) equipment suppliers and support negotiations to achieve the best cost and within the project budget; Work closely with the test engineer to ensure that the manufacturing process not only delivers the best productivity, but also the best product quality

· Continuous Improvement: Use Lean principles to design the most efficient manufacturing processes, taking into account the flow of products and materials in and out of production cells.

· Documentation: Create standardized work instructions to ensure the product is designed to correct the standard and to aid operator training

Requirements:

· Previous experience with lean principles, VSM activities, VA Vs. NVA, Kanban, Poka Yoke, Continuous Improvement, standard work, etc.

· Good understanding of a part and the flow of materials

· Good working knowledge of the SMT process, including all attributes of printing Stencil, SPI, Placement (Inc programming), Reflow (Inc profile), AOI, and PCB handling equipment

· Familiar with manual insertion and wave soldering process, good understanding of line balancing, spray flow, profiling, wave soldering pallet design

· Working knowledge of the conformal coating process, including material viscosity, selective spray equipment, UV curing process, and pallet design

· Familiar with the case construction process, one-piece flow, line balancing, torque drivers, heatsink compound application, and final packaging process

· Ability to recognize process defects using IPC-A-610 guidelines and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate

· Experience with preventative maintenance programs, both creating and implementing them

· Able to interpret BOM/CAD data and technical schematics and drawings

Authority:

It has the authority to stop the process, if it does not have the quality requirements, to divert the process always ensuring the quality of the product. detect and stop any activity that does not meet safety requirements, make changes to manufacturing processes according to customer requirements and quality
