As a Privacy Analyst reporting to the Global Privacy Counsel, you’ll be directly involved in supporting and developing StackAdapt’s privacy program to ensure compliance with privacy laws, mitigate risk, and build trust with our customers and consumers. You’ll work cross-functionally with business units and contribute to strategic projects that advance our privacy practices and supporting technologies.


This role requires a solid understanding of core data protection activities, including incident response, privacy impact assessments, records of processing, records management, and subject access requests. Success in this role will depend on your ability to think creatively, collaborate closely with others, and approach challenges with a proactive mindset. You’ll play a key role in implementing strategic data protection initiatives across the organization, helping to unify central business and technology groups.


StackAdapt is a remote-first company, and you’ll be part of a highly collaborative global Legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact at a high-growth Canadian tech company.


This role is open to candidates located anywhere in Canada or the US. Occasional travel may be required.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work closely with the Global Privacy Counsel and other members of the Privacy team to develop and implement privacy and governance strategies to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements as well as privacy commitments
  • Assist the Privacy team to monitor, audit, and improve company-wide privacy policies and processes.
  • Support the maintenance of up-to-date records, including data subject access inquiries, privacy incidents and resolutions
  • Facilitate the fulfillment of data subject and consumer rights requests (access, deletion, do not sell, etc.) for applicable regulations
  • Collaborate on annual assessments, questionnaires, and data protection registrations, as required, and escalate risk remediation requirements 
  • Assist with privacy impact assessments (PIAs), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and due diligence initiatives alongside key stakeholders for new projects, processes, and systems
  • Maintain records of data processing activities (ROPA) and DPIAs to demonstrate compliance with applicable data protection laws
  • Implement privacy by design principles and ensure privacy considerations are integrated into projects and business objectives
  • Facilitate updates to external privacy facing materials (e.g., privacy notice, cookie banners)
  • Collaborate with various departments components and programs to educate and inform personnel on matters pertaining to privacy compliance

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Practical, business-minded professional with 1-3 years of privacy, legal operations, or similar experience.
  • Knowledge of general data privacy principles such as data minimization, privacy by design, consent, and data subject rights.
  • Ability to translate complex/technical topics into business language and to articulate points in widely understood terms
  • A positive, collaborative spirit, and a learning mindset 
  • Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoy a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Professional maturity and integrity 
  • Exceptional writing skills, strong attention to detail, and an ability to create original drafted documents
  • IAPP Privacy certification a plus
