DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Drive the design, development and implementation of software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Lead code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Lead design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Lead project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Principal Software Engineer, Software developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires seven (7) years of experience with the following skills: Linux; Designing and developing distributed systems with Java, Python and Microservices. This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills: Utilizing AWS ECS and Kubernetes to implement Infrastructure-as-Code, cost modeling, FinOps, and operational improvements; Designing and maintaining event driven architecture using Apache Kafka. This position requires any amount of experience with the following skills: Unix; Agile SDLC; Waterfall SDLC; Hybrid SDLC; Designing Data Pipelines using Apache Spark; Docker; Jenkins; Spring; Hibernate; Java; Python; Scala; Shell Scripting; SQL; XML; REST; SOAP; Maven; JSON; Kubernetes; AWS Cloud Services; Cassandra; Hadoop; Hive; Oracle; Apache Spark; Splunk; Automated Testing; Blackbox Testing; Functional Testing; Manual Testing; Performance Testing; Regression Testing; Smoke Testing; System Integration Testing; Unit Testing; User Acceptance Testing; and White Box Testing.
