About the Investment Research Team
The Investment Research Team is the heart of all Investment products designed by Wealthsimple. We deeply understand markets and financial securities, and develop best in class strategies and products that meet the needs of our expanding client base. Our expertise is equal parts analytical and strategic, both in deeply understanding how financial products and securities work, as well as building a vision for how we can apply those tools to further the financial freedom of our clients.
In this role you'll have the opportunity to
- Fully own, oversee, and evolve our strategic asset allocation process through a data-driven analytical approach.
- Define approaches and establish investment guidelines for tactical adjustments to broad asset allocations.
- Identify optimal security selection and trade execution logic to ensure maximally efficient asset portfolios.
- Establish proper internal and external benchmarking, and monitor performance and attribute deviates relative to defined benchmarks.
- Develop an expert-level understanding of the asset allocation principles and practices among peers, competitors, and institutional allocators. Own and socialize an understanding of the retail wealth management product space to ensure our products are competitive in the marketplace.
- Partner with our Product, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering teams to lead work across some of Wealthsimple’s highest priority efforts
- Take ownership and ship it
- Work where you are (while our Canadian offices are located in Toronto, we are a remote-first workforce)
What you'll bring
- Strong strategic investment expertise
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in strategic asset allocation or portfolio management.
- Experience defining 2-3 year vision for the asset management / strategic portfolios
- Ability to communicate investment concepts and strategy to internal and external stakeholders (clients and business partners)
- Creative, independent, and driven problem solver
- Able to articulate their stance in a manner that effectively collaborates with different stakeholders
