Title: HR Specialist - Germany

9 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: UK/Spain/Poland

In this role you will support our HR Advisor covering our German and Dutch colleagues. This will include HR Administration, Tier 1 queries, performance and absence management.

This role will provide a positive colleague experience and efficient service to our stakeholders and the business. The role aligns with BSI’s future focus and culture while also contributing to the setup and improvement of localised processes and policies.

Collaborating within the wider People function, this role will deliver a consistent, industry-aligned service. Identifying and addressing policy gaps, supporting the development of improved procedures, and ensuring compliance with local employment law in partnership with the People Services Team leader and the People Partner.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-quality People Services administration service in accordance with service level agreements and statutory/business expectations.

  • Manage administration tasks to support People team activities, including starters, leavers, transfers, and maintaining Workday records.

  • Timely and effective resolution of Tier 1 People Services queries, escalating when necessary.

  • Assist in setting up and streamlining localised processes and policies to address specific regional requirements.

  • Identify gaps in current policies and processes and collaborate with People Services lead leader and People Partners to propose and implement improvements.

  • Review and refine procedures to ensure compliance, efficiency, and alignment with best practices.

  • Deliver high standards of People Services delivery, supporting the Colleague Lifecycle processes.

Skills and experience:

  • Previous HR experience within a similar role.

  • Foundational knowledge of employment law within Netherlands and Germany.

  • Experience with performance & absence management.

  • Experience of working within a pressurised and commercial business.

  • High standards of accuracy, quality and efficiency, and a strong service ethic.

  • Proactive and enthusiastic team-player and relationship builder.

  • Competent written and verbal communication with active listening.

  • Dutch or German language skills are highly desirable.

  • Relevant education or training in HR, business administration, or a related field.
