Support immigration sponsorship compliance for H-1B and labor certification, maintain compliance files, assist HR and outside counsel, and improve processes.
This role will be responsible for supporting Charter's immigration sponsorship program, by ensuring compliance with immigration regulations and internal protocols, including for H-1B sponsorship and labor certification requirements. The person in this role will ensure compliance files are properly and timely maintained, respond to immigration-related inquiries from HR, employees, and outside counsel, as well as participate in the labor certification process in various capacities, including scheduling calls, assisting with recruitment, and ensuring labor certification applications proceed on schedule. The immigration paralegal must be detail and process oriented - the role is responsible for assisting with necessary process improvements and ensuring all processes and changes are well documented.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and assemble immigration compliance files and ensure they are properly maintained for the required period.
- Assist in posting required notices to ensure compliance with immigration notification laws.
- Collaborate with business units and teams across the organization on employee immigration matters, including improving processes and updating internal documentation on immigration processing, status, and compliance.
- Assist in the labor certification process by scheduling related calls and posting recruitment ads.
- Independently communicate routine information to HR, sponsored employees, and outside counsel.
- Communicate complex legal information under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Legal Services - Employment Law.
- Answer day-to-day immigration questions from internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
- Input and update information into legal databases.
- Attend meetings with internal stakeholders as the representative for Charter's immigration program.
- Perform other duties as requested.

Required Education
- Paralegal certification or American Bar Association Approved curriculum required or Associate's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
- 2+ years business immigration experience
- Experience with various non-immigrant visa categories.
- Experience with H-1B and TN is required.
- Experience working with PERM process.
- Experience with I-140 immigrant visas.
- Familiarity with compliance issues related to U.S. non-immigrant visa categories, including H-1B, TN, and O-1.
