As an Optical Systems Design and Verification Test (SDVT) Engineer at Nokia, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our cutting-edge fiber optic communication products, specifically within the development of high-capacity DWDM systems and 1.2 Tb/s transponders. You will collaborate closely with talented cross-functional teams, driving innovation through system-level and component-level testing and verification. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing system performance, providing actionable insights from data analysis, and ensuring seamless integration of optical systems. - Design and verify innovative optical systems for high-performance DWDM transponders, enhancing fiber optic communication technology.
- Conduct comprehensive system-level and component-level testing to validate optical designs and functionality.
- Automate experimental processes to optimize system performance and improve efficiency in testing regimens.
- Analyze test data meticulously to troubleshoot design issues and ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to effectively integrate optical systems into product offerings.
- Document verification processes, results, and key insights to support ongoing development and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor junior team members to cultivate a collaborative engineering environment focused on innovation.
- Lead initiatives to implement best practices in optical system design and testing methodologies across the team.
You Have:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field, or Master's with 5+ years' experience.
- Strong understanding of DWDM and coherent optical communication systems.
- Proficiency in Python for automation and testing.
- Experience in testing and validating fiber optic communication components (e.g., coherent transponders, EDFA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a critical thinking mindset.
- Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience with machine learning and large language models (LLM).
- Background in optical testing and measurement instruments.
- Knowledge of database management (SQL, NoSQL, or time series databases).
