Le portefeuille de produits Ciena évolue avec la façon dont les clients utilisent les équipements réseau. En tant qu’ingénieur de systèmes et réseaux, vous supporterez les activités SE&I sous le portefeuille « Packet Optical, Routing and Switching, Network Management, and Cloud Applications » de Ciena. Vous serez un membre clé de l’équipe en interagissant avec les clients afin de les aider à résoudre les problèmes et les défis de leurs réseaux. Vous serez également en contact étroit avec les différentes équipes de Ciena, incluant R&D, ventes, services et gestion de produits pour permettre un intégration des produits sur le marché par le biais de démonstrations en laboratoire et d’essais en chantier sur les réseaux de clients.

  • Travail d’intégration afin d’adapter la technologie de Ciena pour intégrer les pluggables dans des plateformes de tierce partie

  • Conception, vérification et test en laboratoire. Vérifier les performances et les spécifications du transpondeur (WL5n, WL6n) de Ciena sous différentes conditions (interfaces TX/RX, consommation de puissance électrique, interface logiciel, etc.)

  • Développement de logiciels pour automatiser les prises de mesure en chantier et en laboratoire (Python, JavaScript).

  • Démonstrations et tests en laboratoire/chantier maximisant la capacité/performance, l'interopérabilité avec des systèmes étrangers, la résolution de problèmes d’intégration inattendus et la démonstration de fonctionnalités.

Les essentiels: 

  • Bachelier en ingénierie, en informatique, en physique/Génie Physique ou un quelconque équivalent

  • Expérience de laboratoire avec de l’équipement de télécommunication optique. À l’aise avec la transmission optique, l’environnement en laboratoire, les instrument optique (OSA), format de modulations cohérents (BPSK, DPSK, etc.)

  • Maîtrise démontrée de Python, JavaScript (Angular.js, Ember.js), C/C++, MATLAB

  • WebUI (HTML5, CSS, YANG, XML, JSON) and/or Northbound interfaces (REST API, NETCONF, gRPC)

  • Possibilité de voyager à l'international vers les installations de Ciena ou les sites clients (5-20 %)

How You Will Contribute:

Ciena’s product portfolio is evolving with the way customers consume networking equipment. This evolution includes the miniaturization of transponders into pluggable form factors and best-in-class sub-components for customers integrating in-house transponders. These products address a new and rapidly expanding  market of disaggregated solutions, from deep inside the data center (incl. ultra high-volume ML/AI interconnects), through metro/regional applications and long-reach networks.

As a Systems Engineer focused on coherent pluggable transponders you will support the tail-end of a development cycle readying solutions across optical transport, routing & switching and cloud domains. You will help Ciena RnD teams ensure transponders operate inside 3rd party platforms by executing integration tests confirming pluggables & hosts adhere to “Coherent Common Management Interface Specification (C-CMIS)”. You will also help customers adopt pluggables inside their host platforms (especially 3rd party hosts) via technical consultancy, proof-of-concept (PoC) demos, and competitive field trials demonstrating features and performance. Finally, you will work with Ciena Product Line Management (PLM), R&D, Sales, and Services for evolving solutions and capturing customer feedback.

  • Performing integration testplans for adopting Ciena pluggable transmitters into 3rd party platforms

  • Lab-based tests verifying transponder (WL5n, WL6n) performance/specs across a range of metrics (TX/RX interfaces, power consumption, software interface, etc.)

  • Software automation accelerating lab/field work (Python, JavaScript)

  • Lab/field activities maximizing capacity/performance, interoperating with foreign systems, resolving issues and demonstrating features
     

The Must Haves:

  • Working towards completion of Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

  • Lab experience with optical technology. Familiarity with optical transmission, lab environments, instrumentation (e.g., OSA), coherent modems (e.g., BPSK, DPSK)

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Python, JavaScript (Angular.js, Ember.js), C/C++, MATLAB

  • Web UI (HTML5, CSS, YANG, XML, JSON) and/or northbound interfaces (REST API, NETCONF, gRPC)

  • Ability for international travel to Ciena facilities or customer sites (5-20%)

  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, determine root causes across teams

  • Organized and meticulous

Assets:

  • Experience with either: optical networks, IP routing, hardware integration or software development

  • Familiarity with routing/switching equipment (e.g., Ciena, Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Arista, Huawei)

  • Multilingual an asset.

Pay Range:  

The annual pay range for this position is $56,300 - $89,900  

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
