The Role
Proofpoint is seeking a high-performing Sales Professional to join our Named Account team, focused on driving growth within the Canadian Federal Government sector. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes and vehicles specific to the Canadian Federal Government. The territory is comprised of mostly Fed Gov accounts with a small portion of Enterprise accounts in Ottawa and Montreal.
As a Named Account Manager, you will:
- Own and grow relationships with Canadian Federal Government agencies, Ottawa-based enterprise accounts, and Crown corporations.
- Manage a mix of white space opportunities and existing customers, leveraging our partner ecosystem to expand reach and drive new business.
- Upsell and cross-sell within existing accounts while introducing the full Proofpoint Platform to new customers.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver comprehensive cybersecurity solutions that protect organizations from advanced threats and targeted attacks.

Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Regional Director, Named Account Sales.
Location Requirement: Candidate must reside in Ottawa or Montreal.
Your day-to-day
- Develop and execute a strategic plan with a strong focus on forecast accuracy and SFDC hygiene.
- Demonstrate relentless attention to detail and a never-give-up attitude, maintaining a high level of activity—e.g., frequent customer and partner meetings—with an emphasis on executive-level selling (CISO, CIO, CMO, etc.).
- Exhibit strong presentation skills and a solid technical understanding of cybersecurity.
- Maintain high sales activity, including 6–10 customer and partner meetings per week and 6 hours of dedicated prospecting weekly. Show the ability to both prospect and close business effectively.
What you bring to the team
- Minimum of 8 years of field sales experience selling complex cybersecurity solutions (or related field) and managing accounts.
- Proven track record of success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience working with channel partners and selling through two-tier distribution models.
- Demonstrated ability to develop complex, multi-product, multi-year proposals.
- Skilled in delivering engaging presentations that focus on customer needs while clearly articulating overall solution value.
- Ability to identify customer business drivers and align solutions accordingly.
- Expertise in use case and business value selling.
- Strong capability to coordinate multiple internal and external resources, while effectively managing different personalities and competing priorities.
