About this opportunity:
Supporting Atlantic Region assets, the Mechanical Reliability Engineer is responsible to manage reliability related processes to track and improve equipment uptime. The role performs much of the statistical and KPI analysis within the Maintenance and Integrity team, understanding best-in-class maintenance philosophy and the SAP PM system. The position provides visibility of equipment condition, performance and maintenance necessary to make decisions for optimal asset operation and care. When there are questions regarding equipment reliability, this role is engaged in the discussions and provides observations, analysis and recommendations for improved performance.
What you’ll do:
Champion Reliability, Asset Integrity, and Maintenance best practices while actively promoting a culture of safety and reliability by:
Tracking production losses and abnormally high maintenance costs
Participation in the Trip Reporting process
Identifying opportunities for improved equipment reliability
Providing justification of maintenance and engineering changes
Supporting with the development and promotion of efficiencies and improved workflow within the Maintenance and Engineering teams
Monitoring and implementation of continuous improvement for the SeaRose and West White Rose Backlog dashboards
Manage Equipment out of Service process and monitor operation of rotating and mechanical equipment to maximize uptime, including management of condition-based monitoring, lube oil and fuel analysis (provided by EPC)
Create and analyze KPIs, data and information from multiple sources to identify, recommend and justify life-cycle cost and reliability improvement activities
Provide support and leadership for reliability initiatives, processes, systems and procedures that endorse the Cenovus Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS)
Employ and facilitate Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and other data analysis methodologies
Develop and implement a Critical Spare Parts selection methodology, with consideration to obsolescence
Monitor maintenance history in SAP and give feedback to promote accurate and useful data
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum req
uirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree
Minimum 4 years' experience in a progressively responsible engineering role within the oil/petrochemical industry
A member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientist Newfoundland & Laboratory (PEGNL)
