Combine your stress analysis experience with your equipment design knowledge in our Engineering team to have the opportunity to design and develop heavy industrial equipment. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and challenges.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the design, and reverse engineering of non-FLS horizontal grinding mills
- Optimize the design and standardization of sub-assemblies of the most commonly replaced components
- Collaborate with service product experts
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate finite element analysis (FEA) results and propose optimized solution designs
- Interpret stress analysis results and implement these to mechanical mill equipment designs
- Where applicable apply FEA techniques to the mechanical design and evaluation of horizontal mills
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and designs and review detail drawings
- Develop an engineering document library of standard parts for common sizes of mills across the industry
- Travel to project sites to gain firsthand experience of existing equipment and as needed to support manufacturing, equipment installation, and field service
- Provide technical support to sales teams, product specialists and solution sales specialists
- Review customer technical specifications.
- Support proposal input on engineering scope for proposals on make-to-order opportunities
- Responsible for on-time, on budget and quality of engineering deliverables
- Follow FLS design best practices
- Promote a culture of personal and team safety.
- Actively participate in team efforts to achieve shared project goals
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum of five years experience in a horizontal mill design
- Professional engineering certification would be an added advantage
- Proficiency in stress analysis of mechanical components would be an added advantage
- Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical thinking and a demonstrated ability to address complex challenges effectively
- Proficiency with engineering design tools (AutoCAD, Solidworks, ANSYS) and Microsoft Office
- Able to communicate ideas clearly and professionally across diverse teams and audiences
