Own Planned’s marketing function across positioning, demand generation, product marketing, brand, ABM, campaigns, events, content, and attribution. Build AI-powered workflows for research, personalization, content production, reporting, and account targeting. Partner closely with Sales, Product Marketing, and founders to generate pipeline, support launches, strengthen category positioning, and scale marketing from a founder-led operation into a measurable, high-performing function.
Planned is the AI Event Intelligence Platform. Enterprises use Planned to source, manage, and pay for their meetings and events, with AI doing the work that used to take entire teams and agencies.
We're on a mission to disrupt a $500+ billion industry. To achieve that, we want to work with brilliant minds and natural leaders who are driven to out-think, out-plan, and outperform the competition. We tackle every business decision with enthusiasm, and we love the work that we do!
As our Marketing Director, you'll own the function end-to-end - narrative, demand, product marketing, and brand. Marketing today is founder-led and scrappy: it works, but it doesn't scale, and your job is to turn it into an engine without losing the taste and speed that got us here. We're creating a category, the AI Event Intelligence Platform - you'll own the story of a $100B+ services layer becoming software, and make it impossible to ignore. You'll work directly with the founders on positioning, pipeline, and the moments that define the company: launches, fundraises, and flagship events.
What You’ll Do
- Own multi-channel campaigns end-to-end, from strategy and messaging to launch, optimization, and reporting on the pipeline they generate.
- Build the AI workflows that power our marketing: automate research, content production, personalization, and reporting so the team can do more with less.
- Run ABM with AI at its core: use enrichment, intent data, and agents to research accounts, score intent, and personalize outreach at scale, in partnership with Sales.
- Run always-on awareness across paid social, content, and email, using AI to produce, test, and iterate on creative faster than a traditional team could.
- Turn industry conferences (IMEX, GBTA, and more) into pipeline with automated target lists, pre-event outreach, on-site capture, and fast, personalized follow-up.
- Produce content and customer proof with AI as a co-pilot, including case studies, user stories, and launch assets, while keeping our voice sharp and distinctive.
- Partner with Product Marketing on launch moments, from the Event Cloud rollout to quarterly feature launches.
- Track what matters: set up attribution and dashboards, report on opportunities created by channel, and double down on what works.
- Keep testing new AI tools and models, document what works, and share it so the whole team gets better.
What We’re Looking For
- B2B marketing experience at a high-growth technology company, ideally selling to enterprise buyers.
- Real experience using AI in your marketing work, with concrete examples of workflows you built, tasks you automated, or output you multiplied.
- Hands-on with the modern AI and GTM stack: LLMs, Clay or similar enrichment tools, automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make), and HubSpot or a similar CRM. You build things yourself.
- A pipeline mindset: you measure success in qualified opportunities, not impressions, and can show how your programs contributed to revenue.
- Hands-on experience running demand generation, ABM, or event marketing programs, and comfort working across all three.
- Strong writing and editing skills: you know how to get great output from AI and make it sound like a person, not a model.
- Curious and high-agency: you figure things out, build processes where none exist, and don’t wait to be told what to do next.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration: you can ship quickly, learn, and adjust in a fast-scaling team.
- Strong collaborator with Sales: you know how to build trust with AEs and SDRs and make marketing a true pipeline partner.
What Makes You Stand Out
- You’ve vibe-coded internal tools, built custom agents or GPTs, or worked in a GTM engineering role.
- Experience building an ABM program from the ground up.
- Experience at an early-stage company as marketing scaled from a small team to a full function.
- A portfolio of AI-powered work you can show us: workflows, tools, campaigns, or content.
- Culture of high performance, strong talent density and in-person collaboration
- Unlimited PTO
- Competitive base pay and equity packages
- All the tools and gear you need to be successful (Macbook Pro, screens, mouse, keyboard, Claude, etc)
- Health, dental, vision, psychology insurance
- Professional development subsidy
- Bus pass subsidy or indoor parking
- Stocked up snack bar & lunches in office 2x per week
- Dog-friendly office
- Relocation assistance, if needed
