Position Summary
As an Upstream Product Manager for Restorative & Prevention (R&P), you will lead category-level innovation planning and early-stage product development for high-growth areas within Solventum’s dental portfolio. This role translates clinical insights, market trends, and strategic business inputs into actionable product concepts and business cases, supporting the roadmap defined by the Senior Manager, Global Upstream Marketing. You will develop financially rigorous business cases, including revenue projections, NPV analyses, and pricing strategies, partnering closely with Finance and cross-functional teams (PMO, R&D, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Downstream/Regional Marketing) to ensure operational readiness and launch success.
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:
Portfolio & Project Ownership
· Own marketing strategy and deliverables across multiple high-complexity projects within the Restorative & Prevention portfolio.
· Lead development of target product profiles (TPPs), value propositions, positioning, and business cases that are financially rigorous and evidence-based.
· Integrate clinical insights into marketing strategy, ensuring product concepts reflect patient outcomes, medical need, and clinical evidence.
· Lead market opportunity analyses, including competitive assessment, market potential, and unmet need identification.
· Prioritize geographic launch markets based on commercial potential, regulatory pathway, and operational readiness.
Financial & Strategic Accountability
· Build out robust business cases, including revenue projections, NPV analyses, cost of goods considerations, and pricing strategies.
· Partner with Finance to model project scenarios and assess financial impact of strategic choices.
· Identify risks and opportunities that may impact financial, clinical, or operational outcomes.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
· Serve as the primary marketing liaison on the new product core team.
· Align marketing inputs with cross-functional plans, timelines, and operational constraints.
· Collaborate with PMO to ensure stage-gate readiness.
· Partner with Global Downstream and Regional Marketing to provide launch readiness input, market prioritization guidance, and go-to-market strategy alignment.
· Work with R&D, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs to ensure clinical feasibility, safety, and evidence integration.
· Coordinate with Supply Chain and R&D to assess cost of goods assumptions, product availability, scale-up needs, and global launch readiness.
· Work closely with Downstream Marketing teams to ensure innovation readiness aligns with portfolio transitions, launch planning, and commercialization strategies. Facilitate knowledge transfer and support downstream execution for successful product launches.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 5+ years in upstream marketing, program management, product strategy, innovation, or technical roles
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience with early-stage product development, concept validation and/or strategic portfolio planning
- Strong financial and business case acumen
- Familiarity with clinical workflows and customer pain points in restorative and preventive dentistry
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear strategic recommendations
- Marketing or commercialization experience in a large med tech/med device company
Work location: Remote
Travel: 30% domestic and international travel required
