A Strategic Role at the Heart of Logistic
Job summary
The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – IT & Corporate is responsible for overseeing all sourcing activities across the IT and other corporate departments, such as Marketing, HR, Finance, Legal, etc. while ensuring strict compliance with financial delegations and controls, the procurement policy and other related corporate policies. This role plays a pivotal part in optimizing supplier relationships, supporting category management, driving cost savings, identifying supplier risks and enabling cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goal
Responsibilities
Develop sourcing category plans and strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing category plans with business goals.
Oversee the entire sourcing activities for the assigned sourcing categories, including managing the prioritization of projects and team workload.
Lead end-to-end sourcing activities for major/complex projects, including RFPs, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders such as IT, HR, Marketing, Legal, Finance, etc., and work collaboratively to develop sound sourcing strategies that drive baseline reductions and cost avoidance as well as mitigate risk.
Nurture supplier relationships to ensure long-term value creation.
Establish process to identify and manage contract renewals.
Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities and supplier innovations to identify sourcing opportunities.
Serve as a first line to handle escalations from key stakeholders and suppliers.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to team members on sourcing best practices.
Contribute to development and continuous improvement of policies, processes and tools.
Contribute to the team’s development through training and coaching.
Champion procurement best practice
Qualifications
5+ years in sourcing IT and/or corporate goods and services.
2+ years of experience in managing people is required.
Excellent communication and networking skills – able to effectively manage and influence stakeholders.
Experience in contract interpretation, analysis and drafting.
Experience leading process improvement initiatives is an asset.
Ability to work in high-pressure situations and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Must be fluent in French and English, spoken and written - The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.
Experience using procurement and sourcing technology, specifically Zip, is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite is required (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
External procurement certification and/or legal qualification is an asset
