Position Purpose: Responsible for maintaining existing and developing new provider relations, and assisting with contracting activities.

  • Lead and manage the provider engagement staff, including workflow oversight, training, and communication standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and contracted providers, maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Oversee timely and effective resolution of provider issues and inquiries.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor production and quality standards for the provider engagement team.
  • Guide the team in preparing and analyzing data to assess and respond to provider needs.
  • Participate in provider-facing meetings to support issue resolution, de-escalation, and relationship building.
  • Manage large-scale provider outreach initiatives to gather information or enforce regulatory/contractual requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 4+ years of managed care, health delivery system and/or project and staff management experience. Experience with state and federal health programs such as Medicaid and Medicare. Provider relations/contracting experience including solid communication and negotiation skills. Previous experience as a lead in a functional area, managing cross functional teams on large scale projects or supervisory experience including hiring, training, assigning work and managing the performance of staff.

Pay Range: $86,000.00 - $154,700.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
