Our team is responsible for making investments across various asset classes including fixed income, public and private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and absolute return strategies. We are also responsible for the finance, accounting, and administration activities related to family matters.
Reporting to the Vice-President, Investment, the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and various financial analysis in addition to modeling and investment reporting requirements in support of the accounting team. This role is pivotal in supporting strategic decision-making and enhancing financial visibility across the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and business decisions.
- Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor key performance indicators and track financial performance against targets.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements across departments.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
- Lead special projects and actively participate in continuous improvements and financial process transformation.
Accounting
- Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify and optimize controls, reports, and workflows.
- Own and refine reporting tools and spreadsheet models.
- Modernize and structure the reporting framework.
- Review and implement internal controls, identify financial risks and opportunities proactively.
- Complete ad hoc requests to support management decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
- Responsible for investment related accounting activities.
WHAT YOU BRING | THE PERSON
The ideal candidate has:
- CPA designation with 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally in FP&A or corporate finance.
- Strong technical fundamentals in financial modeling and analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.
- Experience with ERP systems (Workday preferred).
- Experience in a fast-paced, corporate work environment.
- Highest standard of attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Bilingualism (English/French).
