A market leading investment bank requires a Linux System Administrator to be a part of their Technology & Operational Risk team in Montreal. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to contribute to the team locally, while working within a broader global team. This is a unique opportunity which will provide a pathway into working as Data Security Architect, with the opportunity to be trained on the job.


The successful candidate will join the Data Security team within the larger Cloud Security Architecture organization. The Data Security team sets the vision and strategy for the Banks protection of sensitive information. The team develops policy and technical standards that govern the handling of data and consults with teams internally to develop architectures and designs that meet the requirements for protection of sensitive data.


You will:

  • Have at least 2 years of experience of working in a large enterprise environment.
  • The ability to work and carry out set tasks independently.
  • Good knowledge of Linux System Administrative tasks, such as scripting, connecting databases and installing certifications.
  • Python scripting experience.
  • Have experience in building out Labs to help support project work.
  • Have a thirst to learn new technologies. 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with cryptographic techniques, public key infrastructure (PKI), certificate lifecycle management, hardware security modules (HSMs)
  • Knowledge of public cloud security product offerings, particularly data protection offerings
  • Knowledge of authentication technologies such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML 2.0
  • Knowledge of Docker and/or other container technologies
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and/or other similar workload orchestration technologies
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and software development lifecycle processes
