Legal operations are critical in ensuring this rapid growth can be sustainable and maintained as we scale.  This role will report to our Head of Finance & Operations. This person will be the first dedicated legal hire for Novisto and will be key in developing and owning legal procedures. Your day to day role will be involved in helping accelerate Novisto’s sales engine by facilitating the closure of major enterprise customer deals, key partnerships and technology alliances. Outside of sales initiatives, you will be the key person in charge of document review, issuing legal opinions and drafting company policy on a range of business activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements, such as software licensing agreements, service agreements, partnership documents & supplier agreements
  • Working with company management on strategic initiatives 
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to the company on various legal matters, including contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, privacy, and data security, and identifying 
  • Contributing to the development and the implementation of company-wide policies and processes to improve compliance with laws and privacy requirements
  • Contributing to managing and resolving legal disputes, including litigation and arbitration

What we’re looking for:

  • Law degree from reputable University;
  • 2-4 years experience at a Law firm, Technology or Business Services Company;
  • Familiarity with vendor agreements, partnership contracts, and/or employment law
  • A hardworking, ambitious individual interested in being implicated in many areas of the business; 
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills (Bilingualism French and English);
  • Quebec or Ontario Bar preferred;
