Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Kubernetes)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who loves working deep in the infrastructure stack. Someone who can combine successful systems thinking with modern cloud-native development.

About the Team
With eight specialized departments, the engineering team functions as a highly collaborative, diverse powerhouse. Each department mission is to deliver seamless and innovative communication solutions. These range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance teams that work to create and maintain Zoom's user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. The team continues to push the boundaries of communication technology, bringing people together regardless of their physical distance.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and scaling Zoom’s multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).Contribute to Zoom’s cloud governance, cost optimization, and security frameworks
• Developing and maintaining Kubernetes Operators, custom controllers, and other platform automation in Go
• Architecting high-availability and self-healing systems that support millions of real-time connections  Building internal infrastructure services (provisioning, configuration, observability, policy enforcement)
• Partnering with DevOps, and Product Engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience.Champion infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and drive automation using tools like Terraform, Helm

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering roles
• Program Go (Golang) for building distributed and concurrent systems
• Provide a keen understanding of Kubernetes internals (controllers, CRDs, Operators, etc.).Hands-on experience with AWS and/or OCI — including IAM, networking, and service deployment
• Deliver containerization, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• Deliver with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Administer problem-solving, debugging, and systems-level design skills

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure;  there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
