Position Summary

As the Manager of Data, Platforms and Martech, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing data-driven strategies that harness the power of first-party data. You will collaborate closely with clients, internal teams, and industry experts to develop and implement best-in-class martech and 1st party data solutions. This encompasses data utilization, tag implementation, analytics, and technology enablement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients, agency teams, and analytics teams to document, and clarify client needs related to 1st party audience segmentation, analytics, creation, and activation.
  • Develop excellent relationships with agency client business/planning teams and SBU teams within IPG Mediabrands Canada to drive strong client support and superior service.
  • Respond to agency planners and executives with detailed information or in person consultation on any request (this may be accompanied with a separate guide, document, or presentation deck.
  • Establish and document effective CDP/CRM/1P data operations process; regularly ensure all agency teams are complying.
  • Oversee and help manage first-party data within the various client platforms by establishing clear data taxonomies, customer data models, integrations, and audience delivery mechanisms.
  • Work with global teams to define accurate requirements/processes to be put in place to create standardized operational procedures when working to integrate or implement first party data solutions.
  • Drive continued innovation and regular sharing of your knowledge.
  • Help provide POVs and recommendations on vendor selections for CRM, CDP, data platform integrations etc.
  • Be well versed in the latest trends and technical advancements in Mar Tech; interact with agencies/clients on industry initiatives.
  • Support the process of developing, extending, and syndicating custom audiences based on client-specific data and insights.
  • Actively participate in industry trade groups.
  • Collaborate and create various pieces of information collateral necessary to articulate the various 1st party data and martech offerings to the client and agency teams.
  • Help support first party data integrations by acting as a liaison between external vendor teams and development teams within internal or client organizations.
  • Collaborate in evaluating marketing technology solutions that enhance the collection, integration, and activation of first-party data.
  • Stay updated of global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and help ensure all data practices adhere to legal and ethical standards.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Post-secondary education (Diploma or Degree).
  • 3+ years of analytical experience, background in the media industry.
  • 4+ years of experience in digital media planning or media analytics, including an implementation role with various platform solutions (DSP, DMP, CDP, web analytics).
  • Proficiency and understanding of marketing cloud solutions, CDP, and DMP implementation.

  • Experience and familiarity with CDP implementation, customer data models, data taxonomies and ETL
  • Proficient with Excel and complex formulas, PowerPoint, Tableau, with a strong working knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiarity with recent industry changes, including 3rd party cookie deprecation, Google’s Privacy Sandbox, Apple changes (ITP, iOS, SKAdnetwork).
  • Experience with DSP/Ad Servers protocols and reporting. Comprehensive knowledge of online media metrics and analysis.
  • Familiarity with ad networks, exchanges, and/or auction marketplaces.
  • Solutions-oriented with strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Strong learning agility, with a passion for continuous development.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with both developers and business leaders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, be diplomatic, and empathetic.
  • Exemplary business judgment and problem-solving skills, with a proven record of leadership and innovation.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Proven ability to handle fast-paced, demanding initiatives and environments.
