The Legal Affairs team consists of highly experienced and passionate professionals that work with the organization to enable PSP’s investment activities while managing legal risks. Given this role, Legal Affairs has a unique and global view of PSP’s activities. The Legal Affairs team has tremendous exposure to high-quality global transactions and complex legal questions, while being supported by an international network of trusted external counsel and partners.
As an Intern, Legal Affairs (Access to Information, Privacy and Commercial), you’ll:
Support the Access to Information and Privacy Office and Legal Affairs lawyers on matters related to access to information, privacy, and commercial law
Assist with the processing and management of access to information and privacy requests
Contribute to the preliminary review of commercial contracts
Conduct legal research and support projects related to privacy, access to information, and commercial legal matters
Provide general support to lawyers and other team members on a variety of legal matters, as needed
Currently enrolled in a JD or LL.B. program, or in an undergraduate program in a related field
Demonstrated interest in access to information and privacy law
Good level of proficiency with MS Office tools
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with a high level of autonomy
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks and meet established deadlines
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
High level of attention to detail and a rigorous approach to research, analysis, and documentation
Motivation to pursue excellence and openness to questioning assumptions and exploring alternative perspectives
Proactive approach, with the confidence to reach out to lawyers and team members to contribute to mandates, files, or projects
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships within the team and the organization
Willingness and interest in understanding PSP`s mandate, activities and investments
Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
Candidates must have the right to work in Canada* for the period specified to be considered for this position. No support to obtain the right to work will be provided.
