Comment ferez-vous la différence ?
En tant que membre de l’équipe Machine Vision Algorithms (MVA) du groupe/division KinetiX, vous serez responsable de la conception, du développement et de l’optimisation de solutions avancées de traitement d’images et d’apprentissage profond pour des applications en temps réel.

En tant qu’Ingénieur.e Vision Industrielle, vous soutiendrez le développement de systèmes de caméras et de lasers de pointe pour la détection et la mesure précises des composants ferroviaires. Vous serez chargé(e) de développer et de maintenir des algorithmes haute performance utilisant Python, MATLAB et C++ afin de répondre aux exigences de traitement à grande vitesse. Relevant du Directeur de l’ingénierie, vous collaborerez avec des équipes multidisciplinaires pour intégrer des solutions de vision dans des environnements de production et documenter vos résultats pour partager les connaissances au sein de l’équipe.

 

Qu’attendons-nous de vous ?
• Formation : Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en informatique, génie électrique ou dans un domaine connexe.
• Expérience : 1+ année d’expérience pratique en traitement d’images, vision par ordinateur et applications d’apprentissage profond.
• Programmation : Maîtrise de Python et MATLAB, avec une solide expérience en développement C++.
• Outils : Expérience avec OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow et autres bibliothèques ML/DL.
• Atouts : Connaissance des pratiques MLOps/DevOps, apprentissage non supervisé ou traitement de données de nuages de points.
• Cloud : Familiarité avec AWS, Azure ou GCP (AWS préféré).
• Compétences interpersonnelles : Excellentes capacités d’analyse et de communication pour expliquer clairement des concepts techniques complexes.

• La connaissance du français est requise pour les postes situés en permanence au Québec afin que le titulaire puisse communiquer au besoin avec ses collègues et les fournisseurs au Québec. Une formation en français est offerte à tout titulaire d’un poste permanent au Québec qui ne possède pas une bonne connaissance du français.

• Autre exigence linguistique: l’exigence de l’anglais est requis pour ce poste afin de pouvoir communiquer avec les clients, partenaires et collègues qui sont majoritairement situés à l’extérieur du Québec.

• Concevoir, implémenter et optimiser des algorithmes de vision par ordinateur pour des performances en temps réel.
• Rechercher et appliquer des techniques de pointe en apprentissage profond et non supervisé pour améliorer la précision de détection.
• Réaliser des analyses de performance, du profilage et de l’optimisation pour des environnements industriels à grande vitesse.
• Développer des prototypes et des preuves de concept afin de valider les technologies émergentes en IA.
• Participer aux revues de code et aux discussions techniques pour garantir une livraison logicielle robuste.
• Documenter les méthodologies et les résultats de recherche pour assurer la reproductibilité et le partage de connaissances.

Rémunération et avantages
Nos titres de poste peuvent couvrir plus d’un niveau de carrière. La fourchette salariale pour ce poste se situe entre 72 500 $ et 90 000 $ CAD. Le salaire réel offert peut être influencé par divers facteurs tels que la formation, les compétences transférables, l’expérience, l’éducation, les besoins de l’entreprise, les exigences du marché et le lieu de travail. La fourchette de rémunération peut être modifiée à l’avenir.

Who will you be working with?

Our Machine Vision Algorithms (MVA) team is a high-velocity innovation unit focused on the digital transformation of rail inspection. We leverage a state-of-the-art MATLAB/Python-based architecture to deliver real-time, deep-learning-driven insights that improve the safety and efficiency of global rail networks. As a member of this team, you will work on the frontier of Computer Vision, turning massive datasets into actionable intelligence for our customers while collaborating daily with global stakeholders to support their operations.

 

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Machine Vision Algorithms (MVA), KinetiX group/division, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing advanced image processing and deep learning solutions for real-time applications.

As a Machine Vision Engineer, you will support the development of cutting-edge camera and laser-based systems for accurate rail component detection and measurement. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance algorithms using Python, MATLAB, and C++ to meet high-speed processing requirements. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate vision solutions into production environments and document findings for team-wide knowledge sharing.

 

What do we want to know about you?

  •  Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  •  Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in image processing, computer vision, and deep learning applications.
  •  Programming: Proficiency in Python and MATLAB, with strong C++ development experience.
  •  Tools: Experience with OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and related ML/DL libraries.
  •  Pluses: Knowledge of MLOps/DevOps best practices, unsupervised learning, or point cloud data processing.
  •  Cloud: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus (AWS preferred).
  •  Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical concepts.
  • Knowledge of French is required for positions permanently located in Quebec so incumbents can communicate with their colleagues and partners in Quebec as necessary. French-language training is offered to all incumbents in permanent positions in Quebec who do not have a good knowledge of French.

    Other language requirement: fluent English is required for this position in order to communicate with colleagues, clients and partners (or suppliers) located outside Quebec and to understand the technical and scientific documentation available in fields relevant to our industry.

  •  Designing, implementing, and optimizing computer vision algorithms for real-time performance.
  •  Researching and applying state-of-the-art techniques in deep learning and unsupervised learning to enhance detection accuracy.
  •  Conducting performance analysis, profiling, and optimization for high-speed industrial environments.
  •  Developing prototypes and proof-of-concept projects to validate emerging AI technologies.
  •  Participating in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure robust software delivery.
  •  Documenting methodologies and research findings for reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
