We are seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern to support initiatives that improve operational efficiency and advance strategic priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in process optimization, data analysis, and field operations within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibilities
Analyze and improve operational flows, automation strategies, and manual sorting processes across sites
Contribute to the development of operating standards and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and ergonomic standards
Support the design, testing, and implementation of new stations, including layout planning and equipment selection
Create and update technical drawings on AutoCAD, validating designs with engineering
Conduct data analysis on throughput, costs, and quality metrics to define sorting thresholds and support decision-making
Participate in field visits to gather insights, assess equipment performance, and support project execution
Assist in preparing visual aids, documentation, and recommendations for automation and material handling projects
The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Strong interest in operational excellence and performance improvement with an eagerness to learn.
Proficient in Excel, with a focus on data analysis
Understanding RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes is an asset.
Familiarity with automated warehouse or HUB environments is an asset.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and experience with simulation software is an asset.
Proactive and solution driven mindset.
Willingness to travel to various locations for project support and site visits, with flexibility to accommodate operational hours, including early mornings or late evenings.
