Il/Elle sera responsable de la coordination technique entre les différentes disciplines d’ingénierie œuvrant à la conception de l’alternateur et de ses systèmes associés. Il/Elle sera aussi responsable d’assurer le lien entre les équipes de conception et l’équipe de gestion de projet.
The technical manager will be responsible for the technical execution of generator design for the hydroelectric industry. He/She will be responsible for the technical coordination between the engineering disciplines working on the generator design and its associated systems. He/She will also be primary communication link between the engineering design teams and the project office.

Job Description

Principales responsabilités:

·         Être l'interface technique entre l'équipe d'ingénierie de conception associée à l’alternateur et le gestionnaire de projet en ingénierie.

·         Analyser et coordonner les exigences techniques du contrat entre le client et l'équipe de conception du produit.

·         Planifier et animer les réunions de coordination avec les ingénieurs de conception associés à l’alternateur.

·         Coordonner la planification des activités d'ingénierie et les décisions techniques afin de s’assurer le respect des délais, de la qualité et des coûts.

·         Coordonner la collecte des retours d’expérience techniques sur les projets ainsi que les mesures d’atténuation avec le soutien des ingénieurs concepteurs.

·         Gérer le budget du projet, les mouvements de marge et les opportunités techniques pour l'équipe d'ingénierie de conception associée au produit alternateur.

·         Coordonner le support technique des équipes chantier lors de l'installation et la mise en service des alternateurs.

·         Responsable de fournir des mandats de conception à chaque discipline d'ingénierie pour un projet donné, y compris les requis contractuels, les interfaces, la planification, la performance, la fiabilité et le budget.

·         Gérer la documentation technique liée au produit alternateur.

·         Être le point de contact technique alternateur avec le client.

 

 

Qualifications requises:

·         Baccalauréat d'une université ou d'un collège accrédité en génie mécanique ou électrique avec un minimum de 7 ans d'expérience pertinente

·         Expérience pertinente en gestion de projets d'ingénierie.

·         Expérience en gestion de la relation client.

·         Anglais et français courant écrit et parlé: L'employé(e) sera amené(e) à interagir de manière fluide avec des collègues de nos autres installations à travers et/ou à l'extérieur du Canada, et qui sont généralement incapables de communiquer en français et dont la langue de travail est principalement l'anglais.

·         Capacité à voyager occasionnellement.

 

 

Qualifications /caractéristiques souhaitées :

·         Expérience dans l'industrie hydroélectrique ou connaissance de la conception d’alternateurs.

·         Membre de l’OIQ

·         Certification en gestion de projet

·         Leadership, proactivité, sens de l'urgence, autonomie ; capacité d'interagir avec les fonctions.

·         Solides compétences en matière d'analyse et de pensée critique ; Solides compétences en communication.

·         Gérer une activité multitâche dans un environnement multiculturel et global.

·         Un état d'esprit d'amélioration continue.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

·         Be the technical interface between the design engineering team working on generator product and the Project Engineering Manager.

·         Analyze and coordinate the technical contract requirements with the customer and product design team.

·         Plan and manage coordination meetings with the design engineers assigned to the generator product.

·         Manage engineering schedule and align technical decisions to ensure compliance with the delivery deadlines, quality, and cost.

·         Coordinate collection of technical feedback from projects and related mitigation plans with the support of design engineers.

·         Manage project budget, related margin movement and technical opportunities for the design engineering team associated with generator product.

·         Support the site teams during the installation and commissioning of hydro generating units.

·         Responsible to provide work packages to each design engineering disciplines for the project including the client requirements, interfaces, planning, performance, reliability, and budget.

·         Manage the technical documentation related to generator product.

·         Be the technical single point of contact to the customer for the generator product.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

·         Relevant experience in engineering project management.

·         Experience in customer relationship management.

·         Fluent in written and spoken English and French: The employee will be required to interact fluidly with colleagues in our other facilities across and/or outside of Canada, and who are generally unable to communicate in French and whose language at work is predominantly English.

·         Ability to travel occasionally.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications/Characteristics:

·         Experience in Hydro industry or knowledge in generator design.

·         Member of a Canadian professional engineering licence

·         Certification in project management

·         Leadership, Pro-activeness, sense of urgency, autonomy; ability to interact with functions.

·         Strong analytical & critical thinking skills; strong communication skill.

·         Manage a multitasking activity in multicultural and global environment.

·         Continuous improvement mindset.
