The Role at a Glance:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, dynamic, and execution-driven Senior Accountant to join our team in Montreal. This role is critical in managing the full accounting cycle, closing projects, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys hands-on accounting work, and brings strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines.

This position offers a fun challenge with plenty of room to grow long term within the department. It is focused on end-to-end accounting execution and project reporting rather than corporate finance strategy, so if you recognize yourself in this description, come say hi!

Your Role In Action

  • Manage full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Lead project accounting: close projects, prepare detailed reports, and present financial results to stakeholders.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Support in month-end close process (goal: reducing from 12 to 4 days).
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal processes.
  • Handle a high volume of clerical accounting work with precision and consistency.
  • Provide light oversight on controller-level tasks such as report validation and financial controls.
  • Maintain accounting records in QuickBooks and support the transition or integration with NetSuite.

What You’re Bringing With You

  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience (full-cycle experience required).
  • CPA designation is a strong asset but not required.
  • Proven ability to manage large workloads with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and project reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks; familiarity with NetSuite is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable preparing and presenting financial reports to management.

Life at Dulcedo!

  • At Dulcedo, we break the mold by offering Unlimited Vacation. Yep, you read that right. Allowing you to focus on making every day count rather than counting the days.
  • Minimal office attendance requirements (for those leaving nearby an office), giving you the freedom to adapt your schedule to changing circumstances and prioritize your personal well-being alongside your professional responsibilities.
  • Office life (Montreal + Toronto): a warm welcome, exposed brick walls, a snack-filled cupboard, and—most importantly—a dog-friendly space!
  • Enjoy flexibility in your work schedule where what matters most to us  is productivity, creativity, and delivering great results!
  • Experience the fun of Freestyle Fridays, where we wrap up work at 2:00 PM every Friday.
  • Benefit from Comprehensive Insurance that covers dental, vision, and medical needs for you and your loved ones after just one month.
