About the role

We’re hiring two Front Desk Coordinators to support our San Francisco office and help create a welcoming, well-run workplace experience. Sitting alongside our security team, this role is often the first point of contact for employees, candidates, and guests, and plays a key part in setting the tone for how it feels to walk into the office each day.

This is a hands-on, people-facing role that blends logistics and operations with hospitality and judgment. You’ll help keep the office running smoothly as the company grows, and contribute to an environment where employees can do their best work.

This role will be hired as one of two Front Desk Coordinators with complementary schedules. While both roles share core responsibilities and expectations, one will primarily support morning and midday operations, and the other will focus on afternoon and evening coverage. Clear communication and clean handoffs ensure a consistent experience throughout the day.

What you’ll do

Be the face of the office
  • Greet employees, candidates, and guests with professionalism and warmth

  • Coordinate with security to ensure a smooth, secure front desk experience

  • Support recruiting by welcoming candidates and helping interviews run on time

Keep the office moving
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries throughout the day, including intake and end-of-day handling

  • Help maintain reception organization and cleanliness

  • Stock and coordinate Cognition swag for incoming guests

Support workplace operations
  • Partner closely with the Employee Experience team on daily needs

  • Assist office services teams (custodial, culinary, vendors) as needed

  • Help troubleshoot day-to-day issues and escalate when appropriate

Contribute to a great employee experience
  • Notice what’s working and what isn’t in the office environment

  • Pitch in during busy moments, events, and high-traffic days

  • Help create a calm, welcoming, and reliable experience for everyone in the space and eventually know all employees by first name!

What we’re looking for
  • Professional, friendly presence with strong communication skills

  • Comfortable in a highly visible, customer-facing role

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through

  • Able to balance structure with flexibility in a fast-moving environment

  • Comfortable lifting up to 35 lbs and being on your feet throughout the day

  • Experience in front desk, office coordination, hospitality, or rapid-growth companies is a plus

Why this role matters

Our reception is more than a desk - it’s a central hub. This role helps shape how employees feel about coming into the office, how candidates experience us during interviews, and how smoothly the workplace functions day to day. You’ll have real ownership, real visibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how the office feels and runs.
