About Keycard

At Keycard, we’re building identity & access infrastructure for the agent-native era—where software isn’t static, but a dynamic, constantly changing system of AI agents working on behalf of people and businesses to complete dynamic tasks at runtime.

Our mission is to unlock the agent economy by empowering developers and enterprises with the secure, scalable foundations they need to build, deploy, adopt, and trust agentic applications. To do this, we’re building the real-time, in-band, contextual guardrails required to transition from human-driven to truly autonomous and agentic workflows that give users, builders, and security teams the confidence and control they need to bring agents out of the lab and into production.

At our core, we’re laser-focused on delivering a delightful, best-in-class developer experience that gives them the tools they need to create category-defining applications and experiences while giving platform and security teams the security, scalability, visibility, control, and enablement they need to accelerate their organizations journey to becoming agent native.

We’re a small, distributed team of repeat founders and builders, with backgrounds from Snyk, Auth0, HashiCorp, and Heroku.

Joining Keycard now means helping define not just our technology, but also the culture and company we’re building together—during a once-in-a-generation platform shift.

The Role

We’re looking for our first GTM Engineer – someone equally excited about crafting a category-defining narrative as they are about building the systems that power a world-class self-serve experience. You’ll own the GTM motion from zero to one, working directly with the CEO and founders to establish Keycard as the trust layer for agent-native applications and the developers who use them.

Developers are no longer just pointing and clicking their way through adoption. We’re entering a world where agents interact directly with products and infrastructure on behalf of developers, teams, and companies. Your role is to spearhead Keycard’s evolution into a world-class agent-native adoption workflow — with MCP as a massive unlock — changing how developers discover, adopt, and scale new tools.

This isn’t a traditional marketing or sales role. It’s for someone who thinks in systems, writes like a developer, and sells through products. You’ll work in lockstep with engineering and product, as an extension of the founding team, to shape how we reach developers and enterprises. You’ll be a force multiplier across the company, driving alignment and outsized outcomes at every stage of our journey.

In your first year, you'll build the systems and processes that enable our team to create compelling developer-focused content that establishes Keycard as the go-to trust layer for agent-native applications. You'll orchestrate the production of technical guides, integration tutorials, and real-world case studies, then strategically distribute this content within AI/ML and agent development communities. Your goal is to create viral adoption loops where developers discover, integrate, and advocate for Keycard, building the foundation for our self-serve growth engine.

What You’ll Do
  • Define the Category: Translate agent identity and access into a narrative that reshapes how the industry thinks about AI in production. Ship technical content, reference architectures, and interactive demos that developers (and their agents) rely on to adopt agent-native patterns.

  • Engineer Agent-Native Journeys: Partner with product and engineering to design seamless adoption flows that make developers of all shapes and sizes successful. Go beyond clicks and docs — create bottoms-up loops where agents themselves can adopt, integrate, and scale Keycard. Turn those loops into advocacy that fuels midmarket and enterprise expansion.

  • Activate Ecosystem Partnerships: Launch integrations and co-build patterns with cloud providers, identity platforms, and agent frameworks that developers and their agents can plug into instantly, extending Keycard directly into real workflows.

  • Turn Signals Into Strategy: Use funnel data, adoption metrics, and customer interactions to generate market signals that sharpen our positioning, improve the self-serve and agent-native experience, and inform broader product and company strategy.

  • Build Revenue Infrastructure: Design and instrument our growth stack from first principles — tracking acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion. Every funnel should be measurable, repeatable, and scalable.\

  • Scale What Works: Document the playbook for agent-native adoption. Automate what drives activation, double down on loops that create advocates, and hire the team to accelerate bottoms-up growth into systematic expansion.

What We’re Looking For
  • Technical Depth: Strong understanding of IAM (OAuth/OIDC/MCP/A2A), API authentication patterns, and developer workflows. You can whiteboard authentication flows and explain them to both engineers and executives.

  • Builder’s Velocity: You ship daily, not quarterly. Whether it’s automating outreach, writing technical content, or building demo environments, you move fast and measure everything.

  • GTM Craftsmanship: 7+ years building go-to-market motions at technical infrastructure companies, with demonstrated success at early stage (Seed to Series B), especially selling to developers, platform engineers, or security teams.

  • Customer Intuition: You approach funnel design like user research, onboarding like product development, and growth loops like compounding systems. Every interaction teaches you something.

  • Exceptional Communication: You write with the precision of documentation and the clarity of great teaching. Complex ideas become simple. Technical accuracy never sacrifices accessibility.

  • Agent-Native Mindset: You’re energized by the shift in how developers adopt infrastructure — from pointing and clicking to agents doing the heavy lifting. You see MCP as a massive unlock and want to define how agent-native workflows reshape go-to-market.

  • Collaborative Leadership: You thrive working side-by-side with founders, engineering, and product. You align the company around market signals, amplify their impact, and act as a force multiplier to drive big outcomes.

  • Remote Collaboration Mastery: Experience working in distributed teams. You communicate through clear written plans and async updates, enabling fast feedback loops — but know when to jump on a call or write a doc to align everyone quickly.

Strong Candidates May Also Have
  • Infrastructure Experience: Background at leading infrastructure companies (e.g., Okta, Auth0, HashiCorp, Teleport, Tailscale, Datadog, Databricks) where trust, security, and developer adoption were core.

  • Agent Ecosystem Fluency: Hands-on familiarity with MCP, function calling, and tool-use patterns in Anthropic, OpenAI, or Gemini — and how developers adopt them in practice.

  • Community Credibility: A visible presence in developer or security communities through content, open source, or thought leadership that drives influence and trust.

  • Grassroots Defaults: Experience designing bottoms-up adoption loops, developer relations programs, or go-to-market motions anchored in OSS.

  • Technical Foundation: Early career experience as an engineer or technical builder before transitioning into GTM.

What We Offer
  • Build at the Frontier: Work every day at the frontier of agent-native systems — shipping, inventing, and iterating on technology that hasn’t been built before. You’ll be given huge autonomy, the opportunity to gain mastery, and the chance to work in a team that holds each other accountable to succeed.

  • Truly Agent-Native Culture: At Keycard, we don’t just enable others to adopt agents — we use them ourselves to build. You’ll help shape an organization that embeds AI into its foundation as an enduring competitive advantage.

  • Compensation With Upside: Market-competitive salaries and generous equity packages (4-year vest, 1-year cliff) give you the security to focus on building — and the asymmetric upside of ownership in a company chasing a category-defining mission.

  • Comprehensive Benefits & Recharge: Health, dental, vision, and paramedical coverage for you and your family, plus 4 weeks vacation, 11 statutory holidays, and 1 volunteer day annually. We encourage at least 2 weeks off each year to fully recharge.

  • Tools That Keep You Ahead: A new MacBook Pro, a $500 stipend for peripherals, and the best AI tools available so you can work at the forefront of agent-native workflows.

  • Remote-First Flexibility: We are a remote-first team prioritizing asynchronous collaboration, with hiring focused in North and South America. Work where you’re strongest — we just want the best.

Why Join Us?

Keycard is building the fundamental unlock for the next generation of software: enabling truly secure and trusted agentic applications. Under the hood, we’re building a new identity and access control stack to take us from a world of static, user-focused, long-lived roles and credentialing to one of mixed machine & human interaction that is dynamic, contextually-scoped, and short-lived.

By joining as an early employee, you’ll have the opportunity to help curate a culture of iterative craftsmanship, disciplined design, empowerment to own meaningful problems, and consistent high-quality delivery with real impact. You’ll collaborate with the founders and investors who have championed identity, security, and developer tools from seed to scale with companies like Snyk, Auth0, and Heroku.

If you’re energized by tackling complex distributed systems and want to advance both developer productivity and security posture, with a hunger to learn, have an impact, and move quickly with determination we’d love to explore how you can help us shape the future of software.
