About the Role
Join our mission to build the AI-native data infrastructure for the Global South.
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) will serve as the technical arm of the management
team, working closely with the Program Manager to translate strategic objectives into
actionable technical requirements.
Acting as the critical bridge between programme management and the engineering team, the
TPM ensures that business goals are seamlessly transformed into robust, scalable, and
innovative product solutions. This role requires a strong mix of technical expertise,
product design/development knowledge, and stakeholder management skills to deliver
high-impact products aligned with organizational priorities.
The TPM will oversee the technical roadmap, ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs,
and maintain alignment across programme goals, product development cycles, and technical
feasibility.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Program Manager to translate business strategy and program
objectives into detailed product requirements, technical specifications, and
development roadmaps.
• Support the Program Manager in reporting progress to clients, donors, or external
partners, with a focus on technical milestones and achievements.
• Synthesize concrete business and technical goals from high-level product vision,
mapping global product strategy/roadmap to granular customer requirements and
deployment constraints. Drive product launches, create technical documentation, and
support developer experience initiatives.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance during product development to ensure
sound architecture, interoperability, and alignment with industry best practices.
• Interface with the customer to deeply understand their pain points and use cases,
especially those building LLM, RAG, and real-time AI applications.
• Act as the liaison between engineering teams and program management, ensuring
clarity of direction, resolving ambiguities, removing bottlenecks, overseeing delivering
timelines, manage sprint planning, and aligning technical execution with business
priorities. Ability to discuss architectural tradeoffs, latency constraints, or scaling
bottlenecks with engineering stakeholders.
• Understanding of data sovereignty, privacy regulations, and trust-building in markets
with limited digital infrastructure is a plus.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems,
or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of technical product management experience, with a similar Background
experience in product software development, AI or data science.
• Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management — from concept, design, and
prototyping to development, testing, deployment, and scaling.
• Experience with data integration, ML/AI systems, unstructured data at scale with focus
on analysis and requirements.
• Experience working alongside engineers in a startup or high-growth technical team
environment. Demonstrated experience bridging technical and non-technical
functions, ideally within fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong work ethic.
• Ability and interest in traveling as needed to client, (flexible based on personal
preferences).
• Understanding of public service delivery systems and government digitization
challenges will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with specific stacks, data pipelines, APIs, or infra tools.
