Job Summary:

Join a team where finance, technology, and data come together.

As the Financial Systems and Automation Specialist, you’ll be the subject matter expert for our financial planning and reporting systems, partnering closely with Finance, HR, Payroll, and business leaders across the organization. You'll lead the administration, optimization, and enhancement of platforms including Workday Financials, Adaptive Insights, Power BI, and Microsoft 365, helping teams make better decisions through reliable data, reporting, and analytics.

You'll play a key role in driving system performance, improving business processes, and delivering impactful reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making across the organization.

This is a 24 month term role that is based out of the Greater Toronto Area. there could be possibility for extension

What you'll be doing:

• Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, HR, and business teams by providing reporting expertise, recommendations, and solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable reporting and system solutions, from design through implementation.
• Manage and support financial systems, including configuration, workflows, security access, and integrations.
• Participate in Workday updates, enhancements, and system improvements to ensure the platform continues to meet business needs.
• Build and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and analytics, including support for Adaptive Planning reporting requirements.
• Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to users, helping them get the most value from our systems.
• Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
• Monitor system performance, data quality, and security to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, Finance, and FP&A, to improve processes and enhance system connectivity.
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and new platform capabilities, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Support testing, implementation, and adoption of new features, upgrades, and integrations.
• Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Contribute to additional financial reporting and systems initiatives as needed.

What you'll have:

• 10+ years of experience developing financial and management reporting within financial institutions, supporting FP&A and corporate stakeholders.
• 5+ years of experience working with Workday Financials or a similar enterprise financial system, including administration, configuration, and support.
• Strong understanding of core financial processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, with the ability to leverage tools effectively to support reporting and business processes.
• Hands-on experience managing, configuring, and optimizing financial systems.
• Experience with ERP implementations, administration, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Cognos BI, or similar platforms.
• CPA designation or a degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for diagnosing and resolving complex system issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused approach to supporting users and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Salary range: $120,000-$130,000 per annum
