Job Summary: Independence Pet Holdings, Inc., is seeking a Financial Analyst responsible for supporting the FP&A activities of IPH brands across North America. This position is expected to add value by supporting business analysis, metrics, tracking mechanisms, dashboards, and other critical support to be used by management to facilitate informed decisions and generate valuable insights and transparency for cost management initiatives, partnerships, and efficiency targets. This role will effectively influence and implement process enhancements and ensure a well-managed cadence throughout the fiscal year.
The Financial Analyst’s responsibilities span across establishing consistent and fundamental planning processes & procedures, standardized key performance indicators reporting, consistent facilitation of communication streams across brands, while producing accurate & reliable data and reporting provided to leadership. This is a rapidly growing organization. Critical analytic skills, the ability to work autonomously, and the drive to deliver timely and effective results in a fast-paced environment are required for this role to be successful.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provides support for the annual planning process and recurring re-forecasting processes for transversal (shared services) functions.
- Consolidates, prepares, and analyzes financial management reporting for monthly/quarterly/annual results, presentations, as well as various ad-hoc reporting as needed.
- Acts as a key liaison between corporate FP&A and colleagues across each of the finance teams supporting our brand.
- Key expense analyst particularly focusing on our shared services support organizations.
- Reports accurate and timely results and variance analysis versus plan, forecast, and prior year.
- Drives continuous improvement, by leveraging technology to design and implement solutions that will enable process re-imagination and change the way they work.
- Enhances information as provided to and on behalf of the brand.
- Supports intercompany allocation processes.
- Creates financial management templates to facilitate consistent inputs from business partners.
- Develops standardized templates and influences system enhancements.
- Maintains continuous knowledge of organizational costs across the portfolio.
- Develops a deep subject matter expertise of the underlying business, our technology, controls and governance supporting planning and reporting processes.
- Is a key contributor to the ERP enhancement process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years corporate accounting and/or finance experience, with a focus in FP&A
- Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen
- Proactive self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and autonomously.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and manage business partnership.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
- High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance or Accounting
- CMA, CPA or MBA
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Experience in financial reporting, financial statement consolidations, and intercompany allocation processes.
- Budget development, long-range planning, and fundamental forecasting experience over multiple cycles.
- Experience in Enterprise Planning systems (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a department-first mindset.
- Full-strength skillset using Microsoft Office, with a high degree of competence in Excel and PowerPoint.
