Engineering Manager (Datagrid)

Procore is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Datagrid division with a strong technical foundation and proven experience leading development teams. This role is ideal for someone who has thrived as a hands-on engineer and has since grown into managing and scaling high-performing teams. You’ll balance technical leadership, team development, and delivery oversight — while still staying close enough to the code to mentor, review, and guide engineering decisions.

You will partner closely with product, design, and operations to deliver AI-powered products and features that our customers love.

This position reports to a VP of Software Engineering, and the preferred location is either Austin, Texas or San Francisco, Bay Area. We’re looking for candidates to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers across AI, backend, and frontend development.

• Set technical direction, define architecture, and ensure high-quality coding standards.

• Act as a bridge between strategic product goals and technical execution.

• Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and problem-solving sessions.

• Oversee sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery timelines.

• Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and ensure feasibility.

• Champion best practices in security, scalability, and AI/ML integration.

• Recruit and onboard new engineering talent.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience: several years as an individual contributor (software engineer, AI/ML engineer, etc.) and several years in engineering leadership roles.

• Strong background in building and scaling SaaS or AI-driven products.

• Experience leading distributed engineering teams.

• Proficiency in one or more core languages (Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar) and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices.

• Track record of shipping complex products from concept to launch.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

• Experience with vector databases, LLM orchestration, or AI agent frameworks.

• Background in enterprise SaaS or B2B software.

• Experience balancing technical debt with rapid delivery in a startup environment.

Base Pay Range:
