Knak is a mission-driven company

Why? Because our time is limited, our competition is fierce, and our margin for error is small. For us to have the greatest impact on the world, we need to be laser focused on our core mission, which is...

Empowering people to be creative.

That’s why Knak exists.

We are a world-class enterprise email and landing page creation platform with a focus on making successful and happy customers by providing them with an incredibly powerful, yet easy to use creation platform.

Our industry leading SaaS solution is built by Marketers, for Marketers. We know that it’s the small things that make the biggest impact and that emails and landing pages are where the rubber hits the road when it comes to Marketing Automation. We change the way Marketers work by making them more efficient, while improving conversion rate of their campaigns and helping them stay on brand.

Oh, and we have a bit of fun while doing it, too!

About the Role

We’re looking for someone who’s excited to shape how Knak shows up in the inbox - building a new B2B newsletter and owning the entire email channel, from strategy to nurture.

As Head of Email Marketing, you’ll build Knak’s flagship newsletter from the ground up: defining its voice, format, and creative direction, then owning it end to end - from writing and curation, to design, to performance optimization.

But this role is more than just a newsletter. You’ll also architect Knak’s pre-customer lifecycle campaigns (welcome, nurture, re-engagement, product education), making sure our prospects and customers experience thoughtful, high-performing journeys. And you’ll partner closely with our Head of Brand & Content to turn your insights and experiments into stories that fuel Knak’s broader content engine.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves to write, curate, and experiment - but also wants to shape how a fast-growing SaaS brand shows up in the inbox.

What You’ll DoFlagship Newsletter Creation
  • Build Knak’s newsletter from scratch - voice, structure, cadence, and design.
  • Source, write, and curate content that makes marketers actually look forward to opening.
  • Own creative direction: headlines, visuals, sections, themes.
  • Measure performance (open, click, share, growth) and continually optimize.
Lifecycle Strategy & Execution
  • Design and own pre-customer lifecycle campaigns (welcome, nurture, re-engagement, product education).
  • Collaborate with marketing ops and digital to deliver smart, modular campaigns.
  • Create reusable templates, frameworks, and playbooks.
  • Partner with product marketing and demand gen to tie launches and campaigns into the inbox journey.
Experimentation & Optimization
  • Run regular A/B and multivariate tests (subject lines, content, design).
  • Use performance data to evolve both the newsletter and lifecycle programs.
  • Ensure list health, deliverability, and engagement best practices.
  • Feed insights back into Knak’s modular design system.
Thought Leadership & Evangelism
  • Be the voice of Knak in the inbox and the email community.
  • Publish POVs, share insights, and represent Knak at events, webinars, and in customer education.
  • Work with the Content Pod to repurpose newsletter content into blogs, social posts, and videos.
  • Collaborate with Nicole Merlin (Head of Email Strategy) to stay at the cutting edge of design and email best practices.
About You
  • 5+ years building or running email programs - ideally in SaaS, B2B.
  • Proven ability to write and edit - you’ve created newsletters, editorial content, or campaigns that people actually loved.
  • Deep understanding of MAPs like Marketo, SFMC, and Pardot (and the gaps Knak fills).
  • Confident experimenting, optimizing, and using data to improve performance.
  • As comfortable behind the scenes building campaigns as you are sharing your POV publicly.
  • Excited to be the editor, writer, and architect of a flagship newsletter.
Bonus Points If You...
  • Have experience launching a newsletter or content series from scratch.
  • Have spoken, written, or published on email trends, design, or experimentation.
  • Have hands-on experience with Knak or similar modular builders.
  • Know how to make email content fun, human, and high-performing.
The Impact You’ll Make
  • You’ll get to build Knak’s flagship newsletter from the ground up - your vision, your voice, your creative direction.
  • You’ll own one of the most important growth levers in our company: how we show up in the inbox.
  • You’ll shape both internal lifecycle performance and external thought leadership.
  • You’ll join a small, nimble team that moves fast, experiments often, and trusts each other to do great work.

If you’ve ever wanted to create a newsletter that becomes a must-read for an entire industry - while also shaping the strategy behind it - this is your role.
