YOUR MISSION 

The Electrical Power Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, testing and integrating power systems for complex space missions. The ideal candidate will bring innovative engineering solutions to the challenges presented by True Anomaly unique missions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Design and analyze electrical power systems (EPS) for spacecraft, including solar arrays, batteries, and power distribution units 
  • Perform modeling, simulation and on-orbit analysis for power generation and storage 
  • Create and review technical documentation, including specifications, interface control drawings, test procedures, and design reviews 
  • Conduct system design trades balancing system performance, technical risk, cost and schedule 
  • Perform radiation and reliability analyses to clearly communicate system risks and identify future design improvements 
  • Develop failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for critical electrical systems 
  • Develop electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) for performing power system testing and hardware in the loop (HIL) 
  • Support environmental testing campaigns including EMI/EMC, thermal vacuum, and vibration testing  
  • Develop electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) for system testing and validation  
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure integrated system functionality 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering 
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical or space systems engineering 
  • Understanding of spacecraft power system design and analysis 
  • Understanding of spacecraft subsystems 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Extensive test experience 
  • Experience deploying systems in GEO 
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance 

COMPENSATION  

  • Base Salary: $90,000-$135,000 
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave 

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education and experience. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Work Location: this role will be fully onsite at our GravityWorks factory in Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA 
  • Work environment is in a standard office, working at a desk or in a production factory. 
  • Physical demands may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 20lbs. 

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
