About the team and the role:

The People Experience Team is responsible for all aspects of candidate and employee experience across eBay. We drive business performance, recruiting, learning and development, compensation, benefits, people experience shared services, and people tools and technologies – and oversee the continuing evolution of the company's culture!

People Experience is part of the global People Team and is the face for managers and employees across the company. The team members are responsible for being experts in people-related jurisdictional knowledge and support over 7,000 employees across 3 countries on processes and queries related to the employee lifecycle. 

This role is based full time onsite (not remote) in our brand-new Louisville, KY authentication office. As part of a dynamic team, this individual provides a full range of HR support to eBay’s entities working within both a warehouse and office type environment. 

What you will accomplish:

  • Build strong and influential working relationships with key partners including     Operations Managers, PBP’s, Legal and external vendors ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient, and professional end to end HR service.

  • Continuously promote and drive engagement in cultural programs and initiatives to help build and sustain a positive culture. 

  • Drive the review and implementation of HR programs and guidelines in partnership with the broader People team.

  • Respond and resolve HR-related inquiries from employees, managers, Centers of Expertise and vendors via email, slack, and in person against agreed Service Level Agreements. 

  • Support leadership and people managers with all people related matters, including addressing employee relations issues quickly, effectively and in line with local employment laws and regulations. 

  • Independently manage and resolve HR-related investigations, ensuring thorough and objective analysis of cases. Conduct detailed documentation and make fair and consistent recommendations regarding corrective actions in alignment with company policies, programs, and legal compliance. 

  • Provide recruitment & onboarding support including CV screening, and interviewing. 

  • Liaison with eBay payroll and People Tech Systems team on employee issues as needed. 

  • Mentor and coach People Managers providing expertise regarding employment legislation, compliance, and operational effectiveness and improvements. 

  • Facilitate ongoing proactive and reactive listening through interviews, focus groups, 1:1s. Synthesize insights and provide to applicable partners. 

  • Identify and assess training needs. Pattern with Talent Development to offer support with the development and roll out of training programs. 

  • Support the People Business Partner with HR program delivery, including the performance review cycle process and goal setting.

  • Collaborate with management to address employee feedback and concerns, fostering a culture of open communication and continuous improvement. 

  • Role-model good cultural values and work with leaders to turn culture vision into tangible actions. 

  • Willing to travel to other eBay sites in the US when required. 

What you will bring:

  • 8+ years’ experience working previously as a HR Generalist.

  • An excellent practical knowledge of HR best practice policies and procedures and employment legislation in the US.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Be approachable, personable, energetic, conscientious with the highest standard of integrity. A people person with a growth mindset, accessible and open to our team members, always willing to listen, assist and support with an overall customer centric approach to the HR service delivery. 

  • Attention to detail & a pragmatic approach to problem solving. 

  • A passion for helping people by coaching, mentoring & supporting the business units. 

  • An individual with a sense of ownership and responsibility with a proven record of working on their own initiative. 

  • Ability to influence without authority and able to effectively hold both employees and management accountable for their actions. 

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influence skills are essential to stand firm in adverse and challenging situations. 

  • Organized, innovative and results driven with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a dynamic, fast paced environment with productivity skills to deliver to deadlines is essential.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$84,800 - $146,900

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
