- The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.

This role is also eligible to participate in Webflow's company-wide bonus program. Target amounts are a percentage of base salary and vary by career level. Payouts are based on company performance against established financial and operational goals.

As a Director, User Research you’ll …
- Define and lead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the User Research function. Anticipate strategic and scaling challenges through long-term planning and strong execution.
- Own and drive research objectives in alignment with company goals. Lead high-impact initiatives that uncover user needs and inform the product roadmap and strategy.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of researchers. Foster growth, psychological safety, and connection, while improving processes and scaling the team through thoughtful hiring.
- Lead rigorous, mixed-method research that delivers actionable, easy-to-understand insights. Drive alignment across Product, Design, and business stakeholders.
- Integrate qualitative and quantitative insights in close collaboration with the Data & Insights team, crafting clear narratives that inform strategy and decision-making.
- Stay at the forefront of AI, content, and web development trends. Champion the responsible use of emerging methodologies, including AI, to enhance research workflows and insight generation.
- Establish scalable, ethical, and efficient research operations. Introduce frameworks and best practices to guide prioritization, quality, and impact.
- Identify and explore new markets and unmet user needs through proactive, strategic research.
- Partner cross-functionally with leaders across Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Data, and more to embed research throughout the product lifecycle, shape company priorities, and foster a culture of customer obsession and curiosity.

About you:
You’ll thrive as a Director, User Research if you:
- Have 10+ years of experience in user research or related fields, including 3–5 years in leadership roles where you've scaled teams and delivered measurable business impact.
- Demonstrate a track record of impact on complex, technical products through an extensive research portfolio and influence on high-stakes decisions.
- Bring hands-on experience with a wide range of methodologies and a strong grasp of when to apply qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods to drive impactful insights.
- Navigate ambiguity and fast-paced environments with ease, influencing stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and beyond.
- Operate seamlessly at both the strategic and tactical levels, setting vision while diving deep into critical research when needed.
- Communicate clearly and persuasively, with the ability to present research strategy and insights at all levels of the organization.
- Thrive in remote, cross-functional collaboration, bringing others along through curiosity, empathy, and clarity.
- Partner effectively with data science and analytics peers to align on problem spaces, triangulate findings, and strengthen product and business decisions.
- Foster a culture of quality, inclusion, and user-centeredness while building and leading high-performing research teams.
