Job Description Summary

Provides expert project management leadership to the local market project management team. Holds full operational and business development accountability to manage the local P/L – responsible to build relationships with Brokerage Managing Director, Brokers, other C&W Service Line leadership, the local industry network and existing clients to prospect and secure revenue opportunities for the team. Provides subject matter and delivery expertise to major projects and assignments. Manage and oversee the team’s day-to-day performance and delivery of services related to client contracted agreements.

Job Description

Business Development

  • Develop and implement a Regional Business Development strategy, working with the local market Managing Director, Service Line Leaders and the National/Central Region Project Management platform leaders – manage and report regularly through existing C&W CRM systems in place
  • Constantly work to identify and actively pursue new business and market opportunities
  • Build relationships with local Broker resources and participate in integrated real estate services sales pitches and opportunities as the Regional PM leader
  • Leverage existing contacts to attract new business and strengthen our brand and reputation in the marketplace
  • Work with existing Project Management team to support their engagement in the business development process / prospecting activities
  • Participate actively in Central Region and broader Americas PM initiatives related to growth, development and broader PM client pursuits

Operational

  • Work closely with Managing Director for Canada and Director of Operations to support all HR and Financial requirements of the market P/L and local team, including but not limited to:
  • Monthly Revenue/Expense reporting and alignment
  • Drafting of all PM proposals and coordinating formal client contracts to ensure alignment with C&W’s internal accounting/approval requirements for all secured work
  • Ownership of the recruiting and new hire process as opportunities arise and are approved to expand the PM Team
  • Contribute to development of any required marketing materials to support pitching, prospecting opportunities (working with other PM Markets and internal Marketing teams)
  • Responsible for overseeing and providing guidance to team related to project challenges and issues and being available to support any required escalations with clients or vendor partners
  • Provide feedback and input on ways to improve the platform, its processes and tools.

Project Management

It is understood that the role will come with some level of day-to-day project delivery efforts – ideally focused as a Senior / Executive level leadership role on major projects. When service delivery is involved, some of the key accountabilities will be:

  • Client relationship manager;
  • Manage and direct supporting project management staff on the assigned projects;
  • Responsible for engaging service providers, negotiating contracts and managing day-day quality of service and performance from these multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Oversee project communications and document flow based on platform tools & processes already established;
  • Working with consulting team, develop and maintain master project budgets and timelines as required for each project to ensure overall project objectives and client needs are met.
  • Regularly communicate project status and decisions to all affected parties
    Executive reporting and presentations and managing multiple stakeholder expectations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Observes corporate policies and procedures.
  • Maintains high qualitative and quantitative standards of work performance.
  • Strive constantly to improve skill and work knowledge; keeps up to date in the field of specialization.
  • Cooperates with other personnel to achieve corporate goals and objectives as to quality, service, cost and profit.
  • Reports to PM and Operational Leadership any major problems encountered, findings and results achieved with recommendations.
  • Clears through channels organizational changes contemplated, actions planned implying commitments, and expenditures in excess of approved budget.
  • Establishes goals and objectives for direct reports in alignment with C&W Corporate guidance.
  • Implements government laws and regulations and adheres to established rulings of government authorities.
  • Carries out responsibilities in a professional, courteous manner at all times.

Education/Qualifications/Competencies

  • Bilingual French/English
  • BS in Engineering, Architecture or Construction preferred.
  • 15+ years experience in commercial construction projects – preferably diverse (Interior /Retail/Development)
  • Proven experience in supervising staff.
  • Proven leadership ability, administrative ability, technical background and project responsibility experience required.
  • Exceptional communicator/presenter and experienced negotiator
  • Leadership capabilities in in multi-stakeholder environments
  • Excellent client relations, client management, and consultation skills required.
  • Software Competency: Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Project and Excel
  • PMP certification a benefit
  • LEED AP (or familiarity with sustainable design concepts) a benefit
