This Position reports to:
ELSP/ELSB Marketing & Sales DirectorThe director of Product Marketing (PMD) within the Electrification Canada Business, will report to the marketing and sales president Smart Power - Smart Buildings.
As part of the local management team, this position is responsible to define, plan and ensure implementation of product strategies in Canada for the Smart Power and the Smart Buildings divisions. The Director is responsible to meet business objectives and align the Canadian strategies with the global product strategy.
This role works closely with the marketing and communication teams to plan and execute marketing activities in Canada. The role supports the sales organizations in driving sales and demand creation of respective products. This role is responsible for bringing the markets requirements to the R&D team and driving the product roadmap for Canada.
This role is accountable to build and develop a strong technical team, acquainted with the local codes and standards. This team is responsible for developing and delivering technical training internally and externally. The technical team supports both short-term inquiries and long-term spec influencing.
A key skill for the success in the role is the ability to build long-term relationships with global teams, factories, and local sales teams to manage resolutions to specific customer needs and issues.
Primary Role & Responsibilities:
Strategic planning: Creates, plans and ensures implementation of the local go-to–market product marketing strategy including definition and communication of product value propositions and product positioning in accordance with the global product marketing strategy. Develops and implements annual marketing plan in conjunction with the marketing and sales teams. Prepare business plans focused on business development for a defined market.
Performance management: Establishes product marketing targets and budgets. Ensures their achievement through regular oversight, and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed.
Technical promotions: Creates product demand by promoting technical aspects, providing solutions, and utilizing value-based selling approach. Develops and implements product support and training initiatives, ensuring high customer satisfaction, in collaboration with the global teams. Drives sales efficiency by ensuring appropriate product knowledge. Ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
Demand creation: Drives the country growth by evaluating market analyses, customer research, market conditions and competitor data. Align the sales team on new or promising markets segments for the portfolio.
Team leadership: Ensures that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Coaches, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates.
Education / Experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred) or other relevant disciplines
A minimum of 12 years of experience with 5 years in a management role
Bilingual English and French written and spoken. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
Experience in Electrical distribution market an asset.
Proven change management skills
Digital knowledge: Ability to engage with and explain new software and technologies quickly and effectively
Experience in business plans creation and execution
Skills & Competencies
Strong business acumen and understanding of the Canadian market dynamics
Passion for the product marketing strategy
Ability to lead a technical department
Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
