We are ARB Interactive, the team behind Modo Casino, one of the top Social+ platforms in the US. Founded in 2022, we've grown to nearly 200 team members and were named one of LinkedIn's 2025 Top 50 Startups in the United States. We move fast, think big, and love bold ideas that push boundaries (and buttons). From new rewards to fresh game mechanics, every challenge is a chance to innovate and have fun doing it. Our culture is collaborative, curious, and full of laughter because great ideas grow best between coffee, code, and a few epic high-fives.

Role Overview

The Director of Product Design leads the Product Design team and is responsible for the quality, consistency, and impact of all user experience and visual design across the Modo platform. This role oversees UI/UX designers and works closely with Product Managers and Engineering to deliver polished, player-centered experiences at pace.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will contribute to design work directly, manage and mentor designers, and establish design systems and standards. You'll set the pace and process for design across six product squads. We ship frequently, and you'll build the systems that let the team do that without sacrificing quality.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of UI/UX designers, ensuring high-quality output across all product domains.

  • Hire and onboard new designers as the team scales, setting clear expectations for performance and quality.

  • Prioritize incoming design requests from Product Managers and manage workload across the team.

  • Run regular design critiques, establish feedback loops, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Design Quality & Systems

  • Own and evolve the Modo design system, ensuring visual and interaction consistency across all surfaces (mobile app, web, back-office).

  • Establish and maintain design standards for the lobby, game experience, store, promotions, onboarding, and all player-facing flows.

  • Ensure all designs are optimized for mobile-first experiences with attention to performance and accessibility.

  • Build reusable templates and component libraries that accelerate design and development velocity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Managers to translate product requirements into clear, polished design solutions.

  • Work with Engineering to ensure design feasibility, maintain fidelity during implementation, and resolve edge cases.

  • Collaborate with Marketing on promotional modals, banners, hero imagery, and seasonal themes, ensuring brand consistency between product and marketing design.

  • Coordinate with the animator to bring motion design and micro-interactions into the player experience.

Player-Centered Design

  • Champion user research and player feedback as inputs to the design process.

  • Drive improvements to key UX flows including onboarding, first-time user experience, discoverability, store and purchase flows, and game navigation.

  • Ensure the product maintains a fun, rewarding, and intuitive feel that keeps players engaged.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of product design experience, with at least 1–2 years leading or managing a small design team.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating mobile-first consumer product design, including complex interaction patterns and visual systems.

  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to a design system in a fast-moving product environment.

  • Proficiency in Figma and a track record of maintaining design quality across multiple concurrent workstreams.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with PM and Engineering.

  • Comfortable balancing hands-on design work with team leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in gaming, social casino, sweepstakes, or mobile entertainment.

  • Background in designing for gamified experiences, reward mechanics, or engagement-driven products.

  • Experience coordinating between product design and marketing or brand design teams.

  • Familiarity with animation and motion design principles.

  • Experience working in a remote-first or distributed team environment.
