Our scope ranges from recommending how to use content more effectively to optimizing daily media channel performance and maximizing visibility in eCommerce platforms.

As the Director of Media Effectiveness, you will lead a cross-disciplinary team consisting of a data analysts and media effectiveness analyst. As the senior contact for your client, you will partner with the client, investment and audience leads to set strategy, develop measurement frameworks, create a learning agenda, structure for reporting, provide thought leadership, and deliver ongoing guidance to both internal and external stakeholders. The aim of this role is to own all of media performance, not just digital channels.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead client development efforts for advanced analytics, including new and organic business pitches

  • Collaborate across the dentsu network, including Merkle, to bring in automation and support our clients in complex analytics projects

  • Manage the analytics business for a portfolio of clients

  • Lead the integration of all analytics disciplines in service of client business outcomes

  • Act as the senior contact for analytics, adapting to business challenges with agility and direction

  • Advise client on how best to apply econometrics and attribution of their media directly to their media planning & business efforts

  • Partner with audience and insights to drive more closed loops on audience performance to analytics to constantly improve performance but also source opportunities for clients

  • Steward development and ongoing management of our unified data infrastructure, directing engineers to deploy data sources and architecture that can be leveraged to answer ongoing and ad hoc client questions

  • Mentor and develop skill set of analytics teams

  • Explore business opportunities in Creative Analytics and new spaces in advanced analytics

  • Partner in the development of agency thought leadership

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analysis, Media, or related field.

  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a focus in media or digital

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey and package technical findings in simple terms

  • Understanding of all planning and buying, with a focus on standard media metrics in social, search, display, TV, connected TV, video, print, OOH/DOOH etc.

  • Experience with Data Visualization software and dashboard building (e.g., Tableau) This role knows how to deliver a story with data.

  • Expertise in relational databases and a requisite programming language (e.g., SQL, R, or Python) to work with them and lead the training of junior employees

  • Extensive experience with statistical modelling techniques

  • Experience in the development and execution of data strategies for a highly complex client.

  • Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit

  • Well-developed communication skills: the ability to communicate complex data challenges and insights to an executive level audience is a critical qualification

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Proven track record of achievement in the management of teams in a data-driven agency environment

  • Strong presentation skills and personal presence

  • Strategic forward thinker with proven leadership skills

The salary range for this position is $100k-$115k. Actual salary within the salary range will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, and skills. A range of medical, dental, RRSP, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available to all permanent employees.
