As Director of Marketing, you will be our marketing function. Not lead a team. Not manage agencies. Be the function. You will use AI tools aAnd automations to operate at the scale of a 3-person team, owning organic acquisition, content, SEO, community, and lifecycle marketing.
This is a rare opportunity for a scrappy, analytical, AI-native marketer to build from scratch at a mission-driven company. If you are energized by experimentation, live in the data, and want your work to directly improve the lives of patients and caregivers, we would love to meet you!
What You'll DoOwn organic acquisition: Run experiments across SEO, content, community (Reddit, advocacy partnerships), and referral channels.
Run the content engine: Take over podcast, newsletter, blog, and social. Publish 8-10 blog posts monthly using AI-assisted workflows.
Build lifecycle marketing: Create email sequences and re-engagement campaigns. Partner with product on activation.
Measure everything: Set up tracking, build dashboards, run cohort analysis. Know your numbers cold.
Leverage AI at scale: Use AI tools daily. Build workflows that let you operate at 3x the pace of a traditional marketer.
5-7 years in consumer marketing, with at least 2 years at an early-stage startup as one of the first marketers
Proof of hands-on execution: 3-5 experiments you personally ran with hypothesis, execution, measurement, and results (with numbers)
Deep analytical skills: You pull your own data, build your own dashboards, know your CAC and conversion rates off the top of your head
AI-native workflows: You use AI tools daily, have built automations that are currently running
Comfort with ambiguity: No playbooks. You figure out what works through experimentation.
Experience in high-trust, emotionally sensitive consumer categories
SEO experience with demonstrated rankings improvement
Community-building experience (Reddit, Discord, advocacy groups)
You prefer to manage teams and delegate execution
You need a data team to pull your reports
AI is something you've "experimented with" rather than integrated into daily workflows
You're looking to build a marketing org with direct reports
Salary: $150,000 - $175,000
