Job Description Summary: The Director of Advanced Fabrication will be responsible for leading, directing, and managing the Region Weld Process Specialists. In addition, the Director’s responsibility is to develop Region Metal Fab sales strategy with District Managers (DM’s) within the Region to achieve top line sales growth, EBITDA performance, and customer service excellence by bringing value through seminars, efficiency analyses and surveys. This position is the engine for sales growth for the metal fabrication market segment.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring a safe environment at all Air Liquide-Airgas facilities.
Manage the Weld Process Specialist team to efficiently and effectively execute the Advanced Fabrication strategy.
Manage Advanced Fabrication assets throughout the Region. Forecast and budget for future staff and equipment needs for the fiscal year.
Ensure effective collaboration, teamwork, and communication throughout the Regional Company by participating in District meetings.
Manage the Region Sales Metrics to measure the growth of all Advanced Fabrication Technologies along with the related consumables and gases.
Manage Advanced Fabrication book of business for account retention, TCO’s, Contract Renewals, PSE, and annual business reviews.
Develop local vendor partnerships aligned with the Advanced Fabrication strategy to drive the segment in the Great Lakes Region, conduct technical and product sales training and support the sales process.
Manage the Air Liquide-Airgas commercial offering for all shielding, laser gases, and ARCAL product line.
Oversee ongoing development of the expertise of the Advanced Fab team, to ensure training and development is aligned to the needs of the markets we serve.

Education: Bachelor of Science in welding engineering or related degree
Certifications: the candidate must have three or more of the following certifications:
CWI (Certified Welding Inspector),
Hypertherm Mechanized Cutting
Hard Automation (internal Airgas)
PE (Professional Engineering)
CWEng (Certified Welding Engineer)
CRAW-O or CRAW-T (Certification Robotic Arc Welding)
CWS (Certified Welding Supervisor)
CWE (Certified Welding Educator) or
NCCER Instructor, Core & Welding (National Center for Construction Education and Research)
OSHA 10 Hour or OSHA 30 Hour card
Preferred Qualifications:
Membership within organizations such as AWS, ASM, ASNT, ASQ, ASME and SME desirable
CWEng (Certified Welding Engineer)
