Director, Investment Risk, General Fund Business Lead

As a member of the Investment Risk team, you will act as the primary point of contact to the General Fund Investment team and other corporate teams. As a trusted advisor to the General Fund, you will help embed investment risk perspectives into key initiatives and day-to-day decision making. Leveraging a deep, holistic understanding of the General Fund’s objectives, constraints, and risk profile, you will deliver meaningful risk insights that support portfolio performance, risk optimization, and long-term value creation. This highly collaborative and evolving role requires strong stakeholder management skills, solid investment risk and asset-liability management (ALM) knowledge, and an intrapreneurial mindset, with the opportunity to shape and grow the role in response to business needs.

What you'll accomplished

• Serve as the primary Investment Risk partner to the General Fund investment teams, fostering trusted relationships through an understanding of their investment strategies, ALM framework, and key risk drivers
• Drive the agenda for supporting stakeholder initiatives by proactively identifying how Investment Risk can contribute to General Fund initiatives
• Translate technical investment risk concepts into clear, relevant and actionable insights that support General Fund decision‑making and long-term value creation
• Act as a member of the senior leadership team and contribute to its strategic direction while mentoring other more junior team members
• Lead or contribute to joint initiatives with the General Fund team, ensuring alignment and effective execution

What we are looking for:

• University degree in actuarial science, quantitative finance or other related quantitative discipline; graduate degree preferred
• Eight or more years of experience in investment risk, ALM, portfolio management, or a closely related function within an insurance company, pension fund, asset manager, or financial institution
• Strong understanding of General Fund dynamics within a life insurance company, including investment risk, ALM, capital management and stress testing
• Strong business judgment and the ability to balance risk, return, and strategic objectives

• Highly collaborative mindset, comfortable working across teams with different mandates and perspectives
• Proactive, adaptable, and entrepreneurial, with a desire to shape and grow the role over time
