Kepler executes engineered marketing, where every message and ad delivered helps create a more personalized and productive relationship between brands and their consumers. We do this by acting as clients’ agency of record, as their in-house team, or some hybrid of the two – and by harnessing data and technology across all paid digital media and data-driven CRM channels.

Kepler prides itself on being a great place to work. In fact, we’re proud to share that AdAge recognized Kepler among the Best Place to Work in 2022, validating our investment in our team and our clients.

  • We're transparent with our employees. You'll hear updates on company financials, how we're performing against bonus goals, and how we're responding to challenges we face.
  • We're growing. For you, that means unparalleled growth opportunities and a role in shaping the direction of the company.
  • We're fun. You'll work with and learn from the smartest people in the industry and have a blast doing it.

The Role:

The Data Strategy & Analytics Associate Director plays a critical role in ensuring client and company success by understanding our clients' tech, analytics, and data strategy, defining a learning agenda that directly ties to clients’ core business questions, and collaborating closely with internal teams and clients to deliver against it. You and your team will work to find insights that will improve and/or explain campaign and business performance, leverage innovative measurement technologies to make data-driven decisions, and recommend and implement new solutions where there are gaps in client tech. You’ll have opportunities to build knowledge and expertise in specific solutions across reporting and visualization, MarTech tools, and measurement and will act as a leader and mentor for the analysts and/or managers on your team as well as the department more broadly.

The position requires strong quantitative and communication skills, a passion for advancing retail client marketing and measurement strategy, particularly within the Amazon ecosystem, a sense of personal accountability, and a desire to be part of a tightly-knit team that’s out to change the industry.

While each client engagement is unique, you will:

  • Act as the senior point of contact across an assigned client portfolio, with ultimate accountability for measurement strategy & technology and clear, accurate delivery of insights and reporting
  • Collaborate with media and measurement partners to ensure effective adoption of the marketing technologies our teams leverage (ie: brand lift studies, data clean rooms, especially AMC, MMM partners)
  • Work with your teams to effectively translate data into information, quickly identifying and clearly communicating the ‘so what’ to senior client leaders
  • Directly lead a team of 3-5 analysts and managers and, as a leader, provide strategic guidance and thought leadership across Kepler’s functional teams
  • In partnership with senior leadership, guide our departmental best practices, team staffing, training and development
  • Act as an early adopter for Kepler’s proprietary marketing tools & technologies, providing critical feedback to progress our toolkit and encouraging adoption across the organization
  • Inspire, coach and mentor staff across multiple disciplines

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 5-8+ years experience paid media/marketing analytics, statistics, digital media strategy, data science or ad tech
  • A background in retail media analytics is preferred
  • Ideally possess strong SQL knowledge, experience with AMC (Amazon Marketing Cloud) or other data clean rooms, and experience with driving testing agendas and designing advanced tests to the extent that they can support junior team members in developing analysis as well as business development and new client implementations.
  • Strong background in analytics, statistics or strategic insights generation
  • Direct experience designing and measuring lift or incrementality experiments and familiarity with other digital marketing measurement solutions (e.g. MMM, attribution)
  • Strong client presence; experience building relationships and driving change at senior levels within enterprise organizations
  • Experience leading teams with proven ability to develop junior and mid-level staff
  • Ability to apply innovative thinking to solve complex marketing challenges, developing and prioritizing analytical roadmap to inform team decisions and client outcomes
  • Appetite for learning new technologies and interest in automating workflows through the use of AI
  • Process and detail oriented; takes a “roll up your sleeves” approach to leadership and best practice development
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • BA/BS degree required
