Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to analyze complex
datasets, develop predictive models, and generate actionable insights that
support business decision-making. The successful candidate will leverage
statistical analysis, machine learning methodologies, and modern data analytics
tools to drive data-informed strategies and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze
complex datasets to generate predictive models and insights that inform
business strategies.
- Apply
statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and programming
languages to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Initiate,
research, develop, and manage information studies while creating
innovative statistical models for data analysis.
- Conduct
exploratory analysis to understand data characteristics and identify
trends, patterns, and opportunities.
- Identify
business problems that can be addressed through data analysis and
analytics solutions.
- Identify
relevant data sources and collect structured and unstructured datasets to
support business objectives.
- Develop
data-driven solutions that improve business performance and support
decision-making.
- Collaborate
with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into organizational
strategies.
- Develop
predictive models and analytical frameworks to support strategic and
operational objectives.
- Analyze
and interpret both spatial and non-spatial datasets to support planning,
compliance, reporting, and decision-making.
- Integrate
data from multiple sources and provide recommendations that support
evidence-based decisions.
Required Qualifications
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Strong
knowledge of information management, data management, database
architecture, data governance, metadata management, master data
management, data lineage, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data
integration.
- Knowledge
of data modernization, digitization methodologies, data quality
improvement practices, and management of structured, semi-structured,
unstructured, historical, and legacy datasets.
- Proficiency
in statistical analysis, data mining, predictive analytics, artificial
intelligence, machine learning, research methodologies, and data modelling
techniques.
- Knowledge
of data analytics, including relational databases, geospatial analysis,
spatial data management, data visualization, and analytical frameworks.
- Advanced
SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Strong
proficiency in Python, R, or equivalent analytical programming tools.
- Experience
with analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny,
ArcGIS, or equivalent platforms.
- Knowledge
of information management standards, data governance frameworks,
accessibility requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Experience
with database management systems.
- Experience
with version control tools such as Git.
- Experience
working with large-scale datasets.
Research, Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability
to assess complex datasets and identify data quality issues including
duplicates, inconsistencies, missing values, and invalid records.
- Ability
to support data migration, digitization, modernization, and information
management initiatives.
- Experience
identifying and documenting business data requirements and translating
them into analytical solutions.
- Ability
to identify trends, patterns, relationships, and insights within complex
datasets.
- Experience
developing predictive models, business intelligence solutions, and
analytical frameworks.
- Ability
to apply innovative analytical methods and emerging technologies to
address business challenges.
Communication & Collaboration Skills
- Strong
verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain
complex analytical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience
preparing technical documentation, reports, data dictionaries,
source-to-target mappings, and data flow diagrams.
- Ability
to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, analysts, specialists,
project teams, and technical resources.
- Experience
presenting insights through reports, dashboards, maps, presentations, and
visualization tools.
- Strong
facilitation, interpersonal, problem-solving, negotiation, and
decision-making skills.
- Proven
ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary team environments and
meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced
degree in Statistics, Data Science, Social Sciences, or a related
discipline.
- Professional
certifications such as the IBM Data Science Professional Certificate,
Google Data Engineer Certification, or similar credentials.
- Project
management experience.
- Awareness
of emerging information technology and data management trends.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid
work model.
- 5
days onsite as required by project needs.
