Data Platform Tech Lead, Azure

The Desjardins Group Data Platform Department is part of the Data Foundation Administrative Department, which is mainly responsible for implementing capacity to support the shift to a data-driven Desjardins. We’re responsible for making sure Desjardins Group’s data platform (the foundation for Desjardins’s data strategy) has the capacity required to ground our business practices in data and analytics. Our team is responsible for developing, operating and securing the platform that provides our DevOps teams with what they need to do their work. As a Data Platform Tech Lead – Azure, you’ll be part of implementing the new Desjardins Group data platform. In a highly dynamic, multidisciplinary agile squad, the team is in charge of developing and implementing cloud environments, deploying code and shared production infrastructure. You’ll work in an Azure cloud environment with targets based on infrastructure as code (IaC), configuration as code (CaC) and continuous deployment (CD). More specifically, you will be required to:

• Work with technology and anticipate innovation to actively help develop, standardize and roll out large-scale IT systems, programs and applications.

• Analyze client and partner needs and recommend IT solutions.

• Plan, prioritize and coordinate work to meet objectives.

• Help solve highly complex problems using your analytical skills and comprehensive, detailed understanding of your line of business and the organization.

• Lead and serve as a systems specialist for your unit, clients and practitioners.

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field

• At least six years of relevant experience in the implementation, development and/or operation of cloud solutions (Azure)

• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

• Knowledge of French is required

• Expertise in IaC (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD and pipeline management)

• Proficiency with Azure environments (Compute, networking, analytics, security, monitoring, DNS, Kubernetes)

• Mastery of scripting in PowerShell, Python or a similar language

• Strong command of infrastructure: Proxy, firewall, Active directory, DNS, Telecommunications (network interconnection)

• Knowledge of security rules configuration and implementation (RBAC, ABAC, Policy)

• Knowledge of Agile environments: Jira, Confluence
